Pretty funny stuff and very creative IMHO.
And it wouldn't be too hard to convert a lot of it to lyrical song form.
It's too bad there is no musical instrument ability to go along with it.
Keep writing, Avante.
So you made a thread to say what you could have easily said in any of his 3000 on-the-spot improvised offerings of poems and you wonder why people around here take a huge on your head daily?
"Dream"
there I sat
in a little
kicker bar
smokin' a Camel
drinkin' Lucky Star
the band sucked
couldn't play a lick
the lead singer
was a total hick
so I sat down my beer
headed out to my car
I had an old 33 National
steel guitar
I walked back in
told the band
to take a break
as I started pickin'
"Another Heartbreak"
the bartender dug it
the bouncer did too
then in walked a tall blonde
so what's a boy to do
I played another couple tunes
the band came back
I walked over to the blonde
smiled and said
my name is Jack
she was hot
I could feel the steam
that's when she grabbed my
what's that sound
.....the alarm clock.

National guitars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, a blast from the past!
Who used to sell them, Sears or Montgommery Wards?
Pay no attention to that flake, he is just jealous he has no creative ability at all except maybe in being a critic, and we all know that most critics have personality issues!

I;m thinking it was Wards.
Check it out....
I like how you rhymed break with break. That required some research, but gotdayum that rhythm, those syllables... lol
4 then 3 then 4 then 5 then 6
6 then 5 then 6 then 6
7 then 4 then 6 then 3 then 4
3 then 5 then 6 then 3 then 5
Yeah, you're a master
lol Montgommery Wards... is that like Walmarks?
Do you remember Framus guitars?
I play the harmonica, and a little acoustic slide guitar. Not that I;m an actual guitar player because I'm not but playing slide is a little different.
Won't pretend to be all that up on guitars.
what's that sound
f.....the alarm clock.![]()
Well if you play slide then it explains why you mentioned the peddle steel guitar.
I also play the harmonica, I have a bunch of Hohner XP-40s (best for reed bending) and Blues Harps.
I got Marine Band, Horner, Lee Oscar, a ton of harmonica's. It took me about a year to really get it down.
I was trying mimic those old blues cats like Noah Lewis, Alfred Fields, Hammie Nixon, Sonny Boy Williamson..both of them.
"Da Man"
You really know you have it down when you can do a locomotive sound.
I always carry a harmonica in my pocket, sometimes I'd arrive at work (before retirement)...walk into the break room.
Avante...listen, ya hear that?
co-workers....what? hear what?
I'd then do that train sound.......hahaha!!!!!!!!!! Yep, smiles all around.
no words....
The great Sonny Terry another guy I tried to mimic.
That's because it is a "train sound", idget.

too bad people don't give a about my poems anymore. most of my poems are derived from song lyrics![]()
Why?
I'm sure some of us would appreciate it.
But you would need to be able to let the trolling of it slide by because no matter what you say on here someone will troll it.
It may derive from song lyrics, but as long as it is your creation and not plagiarism then it would be great to read.
