Higher than cleveland.
Going Under:
1. Injuries
2. Complacency
3. Strong compe ion in the West
4. Popovich at some point will settle for health and low minutes of stars over wins (even more than now).
5. "Deviation to the Mean" Last year many things broke the right way for the Spurs, so far they are not.
Higher than cleveland.
57 wins I think they can get...
Sup Rummpd...how's the wife?
I think it's going to be close. I'm guessing 54-58 wins. Even though the conference has improved, they still play the East 30 games.
If they go 25-5 against the East, they would have to win about 61% of their games against the West to get to 57.
Under. As long as they have HC over the Thunder should they make it it'll be enough.
Over. This will be a fun thread to bump in April.
Over. I still think they win 58 games this season.
60 sounds fine to me, yeah some teams have hot starts like phoenix 2 years ago and then what happened?
It's a long road
when you're on your own
And it hurts when
they tear your dreams apart
Just saying.
Be glad if I am wrong!
Under. I still think they win over 50 but I don't see them being healthy enough to do much more than that.
Mills isn't coming back until Feb. (probably after the AS break), and there is no way Splitter stays healthy for the rest of the season even after he returns from this injury. In both the wins and losses during the first 5 games, the Spurs have shown how much they need those two (Mills for his O, Splitter for his D). Then you have to take into account the inevitable ankle injury Parker will suffer, hamstring strain for Manu, and rest for Duncan. Kawhi may still be getting back into a groove after the eye infections, so its hard to extrapolate too much from his performance so far, but he has still only been able to show brief flashes of being "the guy" to step up and lead when the others are out/struggling.
This team can reel off 15 wins in a row with ease even without Patty.
I still say over.
Under. Way under.
Okay, that was funny! Move Over Rover and let Timmy take over...
Question was Spurs o/u, not Guests...
What "broke the right way" for the Spurs during the season last year?..
Didn't Kawhi miss a bunch of games, and didn't Pop sit TP for a few weeks?..
I don't get it, tbh..
Kawhi (hand fracture) AND Danny (hand fracture) AND Manu (hammy) each missed 2-4 weeks, and they overlapped. For like 3 weeks, our wing rotation was Beli, DeColo, and a 10 day contract. We won 62 games.
Ya, I don't know what OP is referring to..
I may be remembering incorrectly, but only thing I can think of was the Spurs winning an inordinate amount of close games a la the Mavs.
Push, they win exactly 55 games.
These teams make the playoffs (no particular order):
Spurs
Rockets
Mavs
Grizzlies
Pelicans (so every team from the SW division)
Blazers
Warriors
Clippers
Over.
They don't look good right now, but they're the champs, they're proven season champs too, they basically have the same roster (or will have soon enough), they will peak at the right time. I would bet on 58-64 wins.
they'll be lucky to hit 38 wins. good enough for 9th seed in the west
over...
doesn't really matter though...
Just waiting for the playoffs again.
