What are the root causes that make disbelievers to annoy believers?

Despite what you say, I have never had anyone come to my house to try to convert me, nor know of anyone who has.

I have heard of JWs going to people's houses, but never heard of anyone ever being converted by them doing that.

If anything, I think it would push someone away rather than convert them.

He did say "trying" and I have had many come to many LDS and JW's come to my door. Their intentions aren't to be annoying or but they are. But it is hard to spread the word like Jesus stated because people do get easily annoyed by it.

In my 65 years of existant I knew a lot of guys from all over the country in my navy days. In my...insurance sales, working for two huge companies, and knowing a lot of people, I've found that the happier better adjusted people believed in a God.

Again, this is just anecdotal data. I know plenty of miserable religious people and happy atheists, but there are also people like you who have had the opposite experience. That's why we need studies like the one I linked to, because one person's anecdotes aren't a significant enough sample size to generalize from and tend to be biased.
