The Bible is meant to be twisted. Everyone does it. I doubt whoever vandalized your church was an actual atheist. Also, Christians vandalize property, abuse animals, commit murder and rape, drink and drive, and judge others every day. They aren't any better or worse than anyone else. I never see atheists on TV protesting funerals, burning art, calling the president a ******, whining about morality, etc.
Well most protestant churches I know of want to get your personal info at the church service and then call you later to set up an appointment to visit or to get you to come back.
