Overusing acronyms is sort of irritating, I agree. At first I just saw some British s using such acronyms on a soccer forum and I thought it kinda kool so I borrowed them from there. I think the terms like "imo" and "imho" had already been widely used here since before my arrival, but "tbh" was rarely used on Spurstalk back then (which was mostly used in Britain, I guess).
In formal writings I scarcely use such acronyms, tbh, like you can hardly find such acronyms in my novels and poems. I just feel too bored of formal writing sometimes, so I often deliberately use some unnecessary acronyms in my posts here to remind myself that I'm posting here for nothing but fun, and I don't see nothing wrong with it, tbh.
anybody know who was the first poster to use tbh frequently in their posts?
Just be more selective. Only use it if your being humorous or sarcastic... or when you are actually being honest... tbh.
