Imagine the mudhole that the Decliners would have been stomped into by now if Seattle had a real quarterback instead of Struggle Wilson.

Damn, Kaepernick just hasn't shown the progress you would expect from a young QB with his physical tools and ability to make big plays, tbh..

It has coincided with the decline of the 9ers weapons, to be fair..Vernon Davis went from being a top 3 TE to non-existent, Boldin is old and Crabtree is one of the most overrated WRs in the NFL..along with Gore aging, of course..

Doesn't excuse him, though, he still can't read a defense and still makes poor decisions..disappointing after he looked so great in the playoffs in past seasons..looking like a darker Jay Cutler..

Outside of Lynch, Rus has terrible weapons though..

Russ is a better player than Kaepernick, but he's having a mediocre season, as well..he doesn't have the talent that Kaepernick has, it's not even arguable IMO, he's just a much more intelligent player, and can properly read/assess a defense..

They both made it to the SB in the same role, behind elite running games and defenses..

Also, I'm surprised nobody here mentioned the fact that Michaels and Collinsworth said that Wilson called himself a game-manager..

Well, Russ embrassing that is a good thing. Collinsworth has been shredding Kap and he's been dead on. You see it in this game. Russ doesn't have the arm that Cap does, but who cares if you have a pitcher than can throw 104 if he can never hit the strikezone? Russ is way more accurate, way better at reads, a smarter runner and just overall better.

Those group of Niners have always been overrated. They've had elite defenses, but their offenses have never been anything but average to above average and really just had fluky wins in the playoffs.

Anyways, so do you think Kaepernick has good weapons this year, though?..

No - terrible weapons. My point was that lack of weapons inhibits results more than development. Russ has awful weapons for the most part, but still makes some strides. Kap just hasn't done it. Just like RG3 having tons of weapons. Weapons get you results - but development can/should happen despite the weapons. At least IMVHO

Kaep's weapons are still good enough to succeed. The problem is the league in general has adjusted to the read option and running QBs in general and guys like Kaep haven't been able to develop the skills needed to adjust to the league. In fact, this is the year of the Black QB regression.

TBH - the level of QB play in the NFL is horrific IMO. There is like 5 good QB's that you can trust and have legit enough NFL talent where you could call them a franchise QB. Everyone else is mediocre to terrible and are only NFL QB's because they are the best of the worst and it's a crazy tough position.

Haven't made anything, but we're certainly in a good position as far as the division is concerned. Every game left on the schedule is tough for us, every game.
