Visually, it looks great. Hopefully, the story will be just as good. I'm cautiously enthusiastic.

TBH I've seen better 30 seconds teasers than that
Though the teaser was pretty good. Getting the Millennium Falcon back was very smart of JJ. His Mission Impossible movies were criminally underrated largely in part to people getting sick of Tom Cruise.

Let me put it this way. In an alternate reality where Humans live on foreign planets: the Black race would be long gone. Either because of sickness, violence or reproducing with other races.

eh i got mixed feelings. i'm not getting a hard on tingle up hte leg like some are. but there are some good signs.
the voiceover reminded me of JJ Abrams' Star Trek films, which I'm not a huge fan of. I think he's a decent filmmaker, least capable of handling a massive film like this.
Also hope the black dude is not the main actor in this trilogy. I just think that would be a mistake. If he's right for the character that's one thing but this feels like another politically correct move, we'll see.
Another issue is people joke about the lens flare, but the bigger issue is Abrams does a lot of things to call attention to the camera, lens flare, certain movements. I always dug the visual style of Lucas. Whatever flaws he has as a writer and director of actors, he is a great visual storyteller, especially with editing. I'm sure Abrams will tone down the lens flare but I'm more worried about the overall look and tone.
Least Abrams has actual stormtroopers in costume. I never understood why Lucas had to do it all digitally, dude is too damn stubborn. Also glad that Abrams is shooting this on film. The shots of the X-wings looked great, so hopefully he can stay true to Lucas' visual style.
At this point I'm more excited about the new Avatar films than SW, and I never thought I'd say that in a million years, but I'll remain cautiously optimistic on these new films. I do think Kathleen Kennedy is a great choice to run Lucasfilm.
