I always tot that 4-down meant isolation at top of key and 4 players at the baseline. The play that most teams use at the end of games, some with a player running up to screen after that.
Honestly, duncan is shooting below 20% in post up shots and the shooters are always left in awkward shooting possessions when the team is going through Duncan. One of the main reasons why the team was struggling, along with Tony Parker being in Post season mode...that got looked so Happy when Danny made one dumb mistake.
He cant even score on telelovic.

He scored a fluke shot against OKC in crunch time (ball bounced like 2 times off the glass and 3 off the rim), so now people here think he has a right to do it 15 times a game now, eventhough its like 5% efficient
word..
He shouldn't post up at all...
Sad to say but he did his Kobe impersonation today..
Don't be a got and talk about Kawhi's performance tonight
It was painful watching him miss chip shots against one of the worst defensive Cs in recent NBA history, tbh..
TD definitely looked his age tonight. Just a miserable performance all around. Hopefully he brings it against the Grizzlies on Friday
I never worry about the big 3... Tim, Tony, Manu... they'll be there when it matters, tbh
When it mattered, Parker got benched in 2 of our last 3 les
best Post tonight IMO
I don't think they ever ran 4 down tbh. Guys couldn't get open the first 4 or 5 passes of the possession and it ended up in Tim's hands a lot. Plus it seemed like he wanted it. I agree that it needs to be avoided especially against bigger defenders like Lopez. Duncan is still effective when he has a height advantage down there.
He was finals MVP in 07. You talking about 2005? 9 years ago?![]()
No not really..
Tim is elite with finding himself open in moving ball situations..But in no way should the ball ever go down low. Boris and Kawhi are significantly better, but Boris had a bad game...Point is, Duncan was trying too hard, to a point he was detrimental to the team...
He's a little kid![]()
2013 and 2014..
Duncan was still effective down low in the Finals vs Bosh. If he has the physical advantage down low he can still be effective. Not trying to advocate for four down, there are better options obviously but he can still be effective down there in spurts.
Parker was easily the best player on the team in 2013. He clearly struggled some in last years playoff run due to injuries or whatever but was still plenty effective.
He wasn't really backing down Bosh though. Like I've said, he is still elite in terms of trying to find open spaces in the paint off a moving ball. That's where he got most of his points..
It's just painful seeing all these duncan post ups...I already know 8/10 he is going to miss it.
2013? Spurs won Game 1 because of him, HE got Green all those open 3's because Miami was clearly focused on shutting him down, and would've won the Spurs a ship in G6 if some Argie didn't wanna play heeeero
I'm just clearing up testies Post..I'm sure he meant the finals in the last two years.![]()
Duncan is best when finishing quick tbh. The problem with 4 down is at 38 he takes so much time to establish himself and he's so predictable with that fadeaway hook/baby hook.
3 out of 4 tbh. Claxton bailed his ass too.
