i agree and i think most of the peaceful protestors agree the looters are doing more harm than good. there were protestors protecting businesses. its been over 114 days of protests and 3 nights of riots that the media keeps talking about. there has been riots all through american history like d-wade noted, most recently the pumpkin festival and the san francisco giants winning the world series and where were the outcries??

as far as the perception of not being black enough if you don't sag your pants or not a thug and those with that mentality are holding blacks back? false and dumb. did those few people hold charles back??? they didn't hold me back. who is giving those few people the power to hold and entire race back? what are they holding us back from?

barkley has a checkered past himself and he comes off as hypocritical. he isn't informed or educated enough to speak on the topic. he's only up there to talk down on a group of people he has nothing in common with. he's the white supremacists sock puppet just like larry elder.

basketball is his expertise, he should stick with that. rich people detached from the lives of everyday americans shouldn't speak on social issues if they're not actively involved in those communities.

Or when a large majority of black fathers abandon their families. Where is the outcry then? I think black people love to buy into the racism card just as much as the white media loves to portray it.

As far as Chuck not being able to relate. Like I said he grew poor and in the South, I mean right now hes a millionaire...but Im sure he grew up around what he speaks of. I also dont think he literally meant those type of people hold the race down, more like they give yall a bad name and Chuck would be right in making that claim. Going off prison populations and crime in general that group isn't that small either.

So if Charles isn't credible because basketball is his expertise and he can't relate because he's rich, then you can't on the other hand laude Kenny for his comments. Kenny is rich, can't relate and basketball is his expertise. You have to throw out his views too.

Also, if we start digging up dirt on Charles and call him a hypocrite, then we have to do the same for every single protestor. If any of them have any sort of criminal record, they are to be dismissed and called hypocrites.

crime in black communities are actually on the decline, fam. crime nationwide is on the decline...but nobody cares to acknowledge that. we'd rather stick with the "but what about black on black crime" whenever dealing with something totally different, such as police brutality.

That's not the point. The point is, where are the burning buildings? Where are the mass riots and public displays for the cruelty displayed on the streets of Chicago? Why isn't CHI burning to the ground? It's funny you say you can't force the media to cover that, but these protesters and rioters seem to be looking for the "sexy" thing to riot/protest as well. Are these same protesters out there calling for the heads of the unsolved murders by people that plague many communities?

I fully understand that people aren't just protesting because it was a cop who killed a black teenager. They are protesting because he didn't get charged. But, regardless, it's taking something that is wrong and applying sweeping claims because of it.
