Spurs win comfortably if the big 3 sit tbh. They just don't have it some nights.

    time to move on folks.

but before we do let's recap:

3:50 88-91 SA Manu Ginobili missed 3-pt. Jump Shot
1:35 93-95 SA Danny Green made 3-pt. Jump Shot
1:09 93-95 SA Manu Ginobili missed 3-pt. Jump Shot
5.0 93-95 SA Manu Ginobili missed 3-pt. Jump Shot

how the do you rebound the ball with 1:14 left down 2... and jack up a 25 footer 5 secods later???

ok now we can move on

Coming out party? He's the greatest shooter in Finals history, I think that's a little more important than a game against the Nets..

Manu took some pathetic shot attempts in OT, particularly that behind the back step-back 3, but he wasn't the problem tonight..it was mostly that with a -21, looking angry on the bench after Green tied it up with tht 3 to send it to OT..reminded me of, "I can't believe they keep leaving Danny Green open"..
I have no idea why this wasn't mentioned sooner tbh.

If either Leonard or Duncan could have hit a layup, they would have won in regulation. I don't blame them for going to Ginobili because they had three offensively inept players on the floor. BTW, Ginobili was fouled clearly fouled on that last three attempt.

Don't mind Manu taking those shots. He wanted the Spurs to get a rebound on that last one. Made sense.

Yes Green and Ginobili made some bad decisions but this was still exactly what Pop wanted out of this game. Pop doesn't give a about the Nets or giving them a fight in a meaningless regular season game in early December.

I strongly believe that Pop uses games like these every now and then to run a scenario to train the players on what to do in a similar situation in the playoffs when it counts.

You know in Madden when you can practice scenarios like being on your on 30, down 6 with the ball and 2:00 mins left in the 4th - see if you can win the game? It's like that. Pop wanted to run the score up on his players and see if they can trim it/force OT/or even pull it off. In that regard, this simulation was a success.

Now we can look at why DG fouled, Manu's pullup 3's, etc, and we can learn how to handle that situation better in the playoffs, while only costing a BS regular season game and not having to waste a Playoff loss to learn how to run that scenario better.

The lesson learned from that game is not to mail in the first 3 quarters, tbh... it's easy to focus on the ending because that was largely the only interesting part of the game, but big picture, we sucked for 3 quarters, and it wasn't only poor shooting...

burn the tape and move on

Lol. Manu was trying to win the game, but it's pretty common practice to take go-ahead shots with a few second left on the clock in order to give guys a chance at a put-back. Perhaps Green should have taken that shot, but there's little wrong with Ginobili firing with five seconds on the clock.

Manu needs to pass at the end of games. His shot selection has been horrible in those situations.
