Flashing the recovery shouldn't wipe the tablet. But unless there's a stock image in zip format I'm not sue how you can flash it to stock.

Had major lagging issues after the OTA update on my Nexus 7 (2012). I was thinking of buying another tablet. I cleared the cache memory and it's running like new.

Ok, clearing the cash memory worked for a few days and then became slower than a turtle. Did a factory reset and it's faster than ever. Let's see if this one lasts.
