Maybe I'm drunk but I'm not surprised that his mom would let him go to one of the schools in his top seven.
Wouldn't make too much of the UCLA thing. If I was a kid and had a chance to go visit Los Angeles I'd go too.

From left to right: LB Darrin Kirkland, WR Ryan Newsome and LB Malik Jefferson. I wonder why Kirkland is wearing an older jersey?![]()
Scout reporting the one question LB Malik Jefferson was anxious to ask Strong this weekend is why he hasn't been his lead recruiter.
Hopefully that's the one thing that needs to be smoothed over and all will be good.

Did his mom make him that shirt??![]()
Whitney Houston fan.
CB Davante Davis of Booker T. Washington (Miami, FL.) has Florida State and Texas as his leaders, equally, per 24/7.
He plans to visit Miami, Georgia and Florida in January and a decision should come shortly after those visits.
College football playoff set and Big XII misses out:

Not having one true champion definitely hurt the Big XII. This conference commissioner deserves to be fired on the spot.
The irony.
Needs to be fired for not growing the conference to 12 teams ensuring a championship game also. They've had multiple schools interested and multiple opportunities.
Baylor and TCU need to schedule better of conference games. Both teams were in the 90's in sos, they need to only look in the mirror when who to blame for not making the final 4.
Arkansas seems to be the opponent. At least, that's what they think/believe.
SEC sucks so hard. They have to cherrypick their bowl opponents to preserve the illusion that the teams outside their conference champion don't suck.
Lost in all this is that Chip Brown was probably right. We'll know shortly. A&M and the SEC know where Texas is going to be. Now they just have to man up.
Seeing SEC strategy - 8 conf games, picking bowl opponent, weak out of conference opponents (and often FCS near end of year like bye week), etc - just makes it obvious they have better vision and leadership at the top. Can't fault them for superior strategy and plan.
