what happens when they desperately need a bucket. Whos the go to?
Will they even contend in today's NBA?
PG. Mike Conley
SG. Danny Green
SF. Kawhi Leonard
PF. Anthony Davis
C. Omer Asik
Bench
P. Mills
Lou Williams
Amir Johnson
Boris Diaw

people said the same about 04' pistons yet they still won a championship regardless. Not having an obvious go-to guy actually makes them harder to defend during crunch time because anyone of them may hit a big shot.
They'd be a contender for sure. But that bench needs something more especially if you're planning to have williams.
That bench is actually damn good. Amir and Boris are both great role players. Mills/Williams seems a little redundant (both small, shoot-first guards) but they're both solid players.
That team would certainly be a le contender. Probably favorites. That starting lineup would be ing absurd defensively... all 5 guys are probably top 3 defenders at their respective positions.

6th man of the year tbh
3 or 4. A few of those players are getting old.
Easily the best defensive team in the league, and probably the best defensive team of the last decade but there's not enough on the other end to get it done. This team would play some of the ugliest games of all time tbh.
Conley, Diaw, and even AD would create enough on offense. You also forget how the Spurs got by early in the TD era (with worse offensive weapons). All they'd need to do is put up 95 points to win a majority of their games.
Also, it'd depend on the coach. Pop/RC or McFail/Tom Rivers?
Who'd beat them?
If Pop or Carlisle is the coach, then probably 1, or even 2
That's a pretty loaded team with a few weaknesses. Maybe a stretch big can improve the team more, Diaw is good, but he isn't a dead eye three point shooter.
all they need is Bonner.![]()
Especially when they have to play OKC.
Who's coaching them? Which system are they running? Off the bat, I get a feeling that they'd need more playmaking on offense.
How many would a Gasol, Dwight, Kobe, Artest, Nash team win?
This team would be a contender without a doubt, no one would score on them. They'd be my favorite to win it all too.
The rules have changed to make life more difficult for lock-down defensive teams since the spurs were at their defensive peak. I'm not saying the team couldn't win a le in today's league, but objectively speaking, you've really got to have an advanced, top-rated offense to compete for a le these days. I'm just not sure that team has enough.
Considering that those players being in one team automatically make their own original teams weaker then they already have a great chance at winning it all.
A good team with a lesser but respected veteran presence, which is what this team lacks. It's a good lineup to win it all but championship teams had that.
You're also not going to win a le with Omer Asik as your center. Throw in Marc Gasol there and boom you have a legit le contender.
