Kobe yelled to Kupchak while leaving practice court: "These (expletives) aren't doing (expletive) for me." Didn't think team practiced hard.

Kobe has no room to call anyone soft since he's the softest defender on the team.

Kobe knows the Lakers are in a bad way, and the end of his career isn't going to look pretty. Dwight left on his own, giving up money to get away from him, and then Pau left. They offered big money to Bosh and Melo, and both said no thanks. Every objective expert says his contract is a team killer, his FG% is atrocious, the playoffs are out of the question, and nobody wants to play with him. That's a hard pill to swallow.

I actually like this move by kobe, he usually looks to deflect blame and he's probably doing it here too, but he does need to light a fire under them. As inefficient as he's been and as shaky as his defense has been, he's definitely been trying as hard as ever. I swear people on this site don't understand how difficult it is to even run up and down an NBA court for as many minutes as he does at that age coming off 2 major injuries. The fact that he's putting up the numbers he is is impressive to me no matter which way you spin it, and it is the result of endless rehab and training.

"If Kobe does indeed retire after the 2016 season, he intends to make sure that the fight and heart is still with the Lakers once he is gone. This is his way of doing so."
