You do realize that this latest fake, contrived outburst from Kirby was 100% geared towards making a story about how "bad" his teammates are, thereby giving him an excuse for this season, right?
Like people have mentioned it's obviously for show. Media isn't even allowed to sit in on practices but they just happened to be allowed in on the day Kirby practices, as he's about to pass MJ and before a nationally televised game vs the champs. Even if its an act the fact that he disses his teammates like that, and has it shown nationally to maintain an appearance is what makes him such an egocentric piece of tbh.
But that's what he really believes in his warped head.
That's why, looking back after all these years of seeing this narcissistic behavior, how can anyone believe that "im innocent" crock of , and still respect this dude?

Only there's a few problems with that theory: 1) Kobe barely even practicesHow is this old chucker going to have the nerve to talk about practice when he's not even out there 85% of the time? 2) Kobe has the worst on/off metrics on the team this year (outside of Randle who only played a handful of games). He's the one ironcially that needs to practice the most/hardest and play some defense.

It's not about being hard on teammates, it's about what he said. If he wanted to say "Yall will never win a ring" or "don't care to be great" ok. He can talk on that. But he can't start calling out teammates for lack of practice habits when he's not practicing. He also can't say "they aren't doing for me" when he's literally hurting the team the most on the court and they rank and file while he shamelessly stat pads.
It's the content, not the barking that's the issue.

I can get why some people don't think it's a big deal - it's really not. But in the context of Kobe being the ultimate terrible teammate and on top of how disgraceful it is what LA is doing, it bothers people. It's like the difference in friends talking trash to each other and watching a bully do it.
When it's friends, everyone doesn't think twice about it. But when you see someone bullying people and being a terrible person it bothers you. Then, like FkLA said, the fact it's all staged and if you examine it for just 2 seconds you see right through it (i.e. Kobe barely even practicing this entire year) it's just flat stupid.

It's really comical. Kobe literally called his own fans stupid on Twitter when he signed his deal and they called him out on being selfish. He said he's trying to educate them on the business and then did things like #wearesmarterthanyou. Saying that he took a discount and that they had a "plan".
Then, a Kobe fan yesterday (a professional writer) on Twitter wrote a Kobe article and also was tagged in a comment about this practice deal. I made a few comments and he had the courage to say "maybe fans should cut out the pettiness towards Kobe and enjoy the entertainment". I then replied that I guess it's just perspective because shooting the ball 25 times while thowing teammates under the bus isn't exactly entertaining. I also said that shouldn't Kobe cut out the pettiness towards his teammates that are allowing him to chase Jordan shamelessly and just enjoy the ride? Why should his teammates have to suffer abuse as well as sacrifice winning so Kobe can chase his own selfish pursuits.
That's Kobe fans though.
