How would the spurs play if a player is injured or benched or not 100%...

Rank them in terms of how the team plays without them...

    1. Kawhi - Tim
    2. Tim - kawhi
    3. Tiago
    4. Danny
    5. Boris
    6. Manu
    7. Patty
    8. Tony
    9. Matty for spacing purposes.
    10. Big Banger
    11. Joseph ( would be number 7 if patty is out)

    the rest doesn't matter.

    What's wrong with my list?

I'm just here for basketball discussion. It's a spurs forum, and I love the spurs and love talking about the spurs.

Realistically, though, it's extremely difficult to answer for the Spurs, as the entire build of the team is essentially to allow versatility and the ability to matchup against any style of play..

Some games, like in last year's playoffs vs. the Mavs, the Spurs need Manu to carry the offense, for example..in other series, Green will be more important than Manu if they need defense/if Manu is struggling..

Same with Diaw vs. Splitter, of course..

    Diaw/Manu
    Manu/Diaw
    Parker
    Mills

The rest are equal and for the most part irrelevant...

    1) Ayres
    2) Duncan
    3) Daye
    4) Kyle "Magic" Anderson
    5) Green
    6) Kawhi
    7) Manu
    8) Splitter
    9) Boris
    10) Patty
    11) CoJo
    12) Belinelli
    13) Baynes
    14) Bonner

Can't remember the 15th guy on the team at the moment so I'm going to take that as a sign that he's the least important.

I'm also on board that's largely dependent on matchups though... some players are more important than others given specific opponents...

^ I agree to some extent, but players like Leonard and Green for example are both essential in all sorts of matchup. I took into account possible matchups in the playoffs with my list.

sure, sure... I suspect the top 5-6 on every list include must-have players... just saying the order can change based on the opponent...

"The Spurs can't repeat as champions without a healthy Tiago Splitter." -
" Anybody can beat the Spurs in the playoffs without a healthy Tiago Splitter."

However, he's the fourth, fifth or sixth most important player on the Spurs, behind Diaw and Manu. . This isn't 2005-12. Manu's current value is magnified by Patty's injury and that's where it ends. Let's not place a sentimental value on each player.

Spurstalk ting on TP , per par. Some Schtiks never get old.

At least his list was true at some point in time. Your list has never been and will never be close to true.

It's not Parker hate. . Truthfully, Parker hasn't been that good the last two seasons due to fatigue, breaking down. He's getting old. It happens.

Yes, Green and Diaw are both right for the System. I'm not sure either would be nearly as successful outside the system. In regards to Shumpert, I see him as a potential cross between Avery Bradley and Paul George. Sure, he's a project now, but his ceiling and youth makes him a valuable commodity for the future. I'm not sure if I would let Diaw and/or Green be a potential stumbling block in this hypothetical scenario.

Fans do have a tendency to overrate their players. Every fan base does it. I live in Buffalo so I get the Knick games here too. The only thing I question about his game that makes me the slightest bit hesitant, is his at ude. If he does develop into the player many are projecting, he might flea the Smaller market for a larger one.
