Rondo is a terrible basketball player, so usually I would say it's a stupid move, but the Mavs are so terrible at PG that it may not be such a bad idea..

Whatxexactly do the Mavs have to offer? A crappy 1st rounder and Ricky Ledo? Doubt that even gets Boston's trade weeny to flinch a little.

I would assume a combination of a player and future draft picks? Reports are Boston wants multiple picks for him.

The thing is, Rondo will be a FA next summer, and will almost certainly not re-sign with Boston as they are nowhere near contending. So, Boston needs to trade him this year even if they don't get equal value. They likely won't rush it, but they almost have to move him this year.

It'd be a boon for the Mavs. I've always admired Rondo.

The rockets don't need their pg to shoot. Just pass to harden and howard.

For the mavericks, it just makes no sense. That's not the type of team they are.

I think Cuban is desperate for this move. Houston has other options.

    Wojo:

Mavericks are willing to give Boston a 2015 first-round pick with limited lottery protection, sources told Yahoo Sports. Before a deal is consummated, Dallas needs to confer with Rondo's agent, Bill Duffy, about the franchise's ability to re-sign him as a free agent in the summer. Those conversations wouldn't happen until an agreement is in place. If Rondo agrees to this, the deal is set.

Mavericks will not go for this trade unless Rondo agree that the Mavericks will resign Rondo during free agency. If Rondo and his agent agrees, the deal is complete.
Wow, so it may actually be possible to get him without giving up Wright? Or is Wojo missing some details I wonder? Seems too good to be true...

Rondo will be looking for a pay day imo. He's not taking anything less than parker money ($15/yr) tbh.

    Wright would be in deal.
I would assume so, which is why I said "seems too good to be true"

As long as the Mavs can snag themselves a servicable backup center (defensive minded preferably), this should all be worth it.

How and who? Isn't Rondo the only piece you're gonna get from the C's
