How many times are they gonna trade Devin Harris tbh? The Mavs with Harris have always killed the Spurs.

This will be a stupid trade if the Celtics bite.

These are all expiring contracts.. And the picks are going to be late 1st round..

Tough spot for the C's though, they basically have no choice but to get less value in return. Rondo walks after this season otherwise.

No, they´re not. Aminu has a PO for next season and Harris has 2+1(TO) left after this season...

It'd be a boon for the Mavs. I've always admired Rondo.

Poor Boston, there just aren't anymore stupid GMs with picks to get 2 firsts and 2 seconds.

Brandan Wright, Aminu, picks and Harris is really good return for Rondo.
If the Mavs pull that off and still can't get to the Finals with that loaded roster (Dirk, Parsons, Ellis, Chandler, maybe Rondo etc), biggest epic chokejob in NBA history.

I don't get everyone saying "Rondo needs the ball in his hands and won't mesh with Monta". Rondo spent years in Boston with Pierce and Allen handling the ball plenty, and there wasn't much of an issue. The bigger problem is Carlisle, who is notorious for being overly hard on PG's. I could see that being a big issue.

What's wrong with that I said, how could a roster with Dirk, Parsons, Ellis, Chandler and Rondo not be good enough to be Finals bound? so it would be a big epic chokejob if they failed to get there. Maybe not biggest in NBA history but close.

6 eclipses everything. Christ, boy, it was in the ing case, ready to get slipped into the cargo hold of Charter Flt. 123 for the return trip to Crockett's Alamo.

We ain't ever forgetting that, ever.

Allen was running around, spotting up for open J's while Pierce handled the ball posting up but iirc only during crucial moments or in the 4th quarter. And he wasnt as ball dominant then. Also Monta needs and uses the ball more than Pierce or Allen in order to be effective.

I would imagine their go to line up after the trade would be:

    Rondo
    Ellis
    Parsons
    Dirk
    Chandler

Rondo and Chandler can be shut down relatively easy, but Dirk can create for a lot of guys.
Parsons can nail the open shot, and Dirk can create his shot anywhere on the court.
Ellis can create for himself and others, but it would be easier to funnel him by leaving Rondo open
Dirk can create for himself and others, but it would be easier to double him by leaving Chandler relatively open without letting him roll to the basket
Parsons can be contained by sticking a man on him constantly

Defensively, Rondo and Chandler can man the perimeter and the paint, respectively. Dirk is average, Parsons can easily be exploited, Ellis is inconsistent, and can be explioted through movement.

Overall, the Mavs will still have too many holes, and it depends whether Carlisle can cover up those holes well. A team like the Spurs, GSW, Rockets, or Grizzlies matches up very well with them and the road to the finals will go through at least one of those teams. The Mavs however, matches up well with OKC, and Blazers.

I don't see this move improving the Mavs chances significantly. They may win a few more games in the regular season, but will not likely go too much deeper in the playoffs, likely the 2nd round.

I was just in the mood to mess around a little bit this morning here, so I was just hyping this potential trade up. I think the Mavs will be better with Rondo if it happens and an even harder out in the playoffs but no not biggest epic chokejob in NBA history.

I am a huge Spurs and Bulls fan, and I can tell you that 6 is the biggest epic chokejob in NBA history I have ever seen, but it pains me to say it. So yeah, I ain't ever forgetting that cluster . The Spurs redeemed themselves in 2014 and destroyed the Miami Heat 4-1, but the stinger from 6 still hurts.

I don't even want to know what a Bulls/Spurs Finals would feel like and that is a realistic possibility this season.

I try to forget it as well, and the 2014 NBA le provided some healing.

No it can't be redeemed, you are absolutely correct, I agree. I just got out of bed and trying to wake up as I type, as I said it helps heal but the wound is still there.

    This guy is legit btw.

So this is how this is working... A lot of you are asking how things go down etc.

Ainge is leaking all this to all the big reporters - Amick, Stein, Woj, Spears... Just to name a few.

He obviously has an agenda. He is trying to get the price up, up, up! He leaks the names of these teams so people can put their offers out there and compete. This is obviously his reasoning behind all this.

He really wants the Lakers to give their first (Rox first), Randle, and also Nash's expiring (which the costs are mostly covered by insurance).

It is now becoming more of a bidding war.
