Well... if he's interviewing for it, then I would say 100%.
^^^For those thinking it's realistic that Malik rethinks his decision to commit to Texas.
Well... if he's interviewing for it, then I would say 100%.
Is it not confirmed that he's interviewed? Honestly don't know, just heard he was on their list.
"............
Immediately, after Jefferson committed to Texas, his friend and confidante DT Daylon Mack - who also happens to be a top 5 state recruit - de-committed from Texas A&M. Not coincidence. Mack wants to play with Jefferson, his family likes the Horns and unless Longhorn DL coach Chris Rumph bricks the lay-up, it looks increasingly like that will happen. No pressure, Coach.
It gets better...
Gilmer just won the 4A state le behind the play of the Boyd brothers and Blake Lynch (a Baylor commit). Kris - a 2015 recruit - is my favorite cornerback in the state with plenty of physical upside still untapped, extraordinary ball skills and a border collie's change of direction. He's kind of mean, too. His younger brother, Demarco - a 2016 recruit - is a bruising, undersized ILB.
...................
CB Kendall Sheffield, ranked by most as the state's best cornerback recently reopened communications with the Longhorns. He's a much tougher get, but at least there's now a shot.
RB Chris Warren, already leaning towards Texas, is probably sealed.
OOS, Texas still has several quality Florida kids in the mix, some of them they will now slow play in order to see what the Malikmentum has wrought closer to home.
Believe it or not, we're in the dead period. What will the landscape look like in January when Texas can squeeze in some late visits?
If things fall correctly, a 28-30 man class is likely."

Bedford isn't going anywhere. Coaches from all levels of football do interviews even if you have no desire to take the job. Always good to practice them interviewing skills for the one that counts. It can also get you an easy pay raise from your current school.
All this and UT still sucks at the most important position
better than sucking at every position and having a sexy coach.
Two games better apparently. Yipppeee.
@SaluteMe_103: #HOOKEM
Top Florida DB Davante Davis
Speculation is from LSU, Chevis, contacted Sumlin about the job, only leading Sumlin to hold off and screwing everything up.
Headline from r/CFB: "Paperwork was being done to finalize Mattison & Durkin to Texas A&M's staff Wednesday night. Contact from LSU's Chevis about DC job led Sumlin to hold off. This ultimately has led to what we are seeing now."

Damn, hot has been sprayed all over Crap Station from every angle today.
Aggy really thought they ran Texas![]()
If Chevis really is interested, then that's a legit reason to hold off. Who knows though.

Apparently Les Miles was behind Chavis calling up Sumlin![]()
It's exciting times again for the horns. It's nice to have a hard working staff again bringing in top shelf talent. The defensive improvement in year one was great and should continue. Let's get the offense going in the right direction now.......
Swagcopter Down......HA!
If the offense doesn't turn the ball over 5 times a game, we'll have a good shot to win most of the time again......
I imagine there will be further culling of the Mack Brown players in the spring and summer as well to open it up for Strong's guys.
Chavis was under the impression that Miles could leave for Michigan and reached out. Once Miles declined the job publicly, Chavis said he would stay indefinitely.
no one wants to go to Michigan besides maybe Harbaugh
played by Miles

Wow, didn't know #WRTS was trademarked![]()
So did he talk with Miles?
If these coaches just screw assistants by failing to say I might be interested but.... A little honesty for people with families would be nice.
The cascading effect is not good for anyone. Certainly Strong will have discussions with assistants who want to move up which requires a move out? There has to be some honorable way to intimate possible moves without destroying others work.
So Malik already signed?
Some quick notes/opinions from Inside Texas...
-DT Du'Vonta Lampkin and S DeShon Elliott should be solid commitments after today's events. While on his official visit to UCLA, their coaches asked Malik to tell Lampkin how great everything was. No coincidence that Lampkin's interest in UCLA came out of nowhere recently.
-WR Ryan Newsome and CB Kris Boyd are all but locked up.
-no word yet on the reaction of CB Holton Hill.
-Malik asked them for a bunch of players' numbers today and one of the names mentioned specifically was WR Carlos Strickland of Dallas Skyline.
