It's basically nothing but self rising cornmeal with boiling salt water poured over it till the batter is stiff and moldable . Form the patties with your hands...three fingers...not two, not four. Fry @ 375

It's a southern 'poor" recipe...my great-grandmother and grandmother and then mother used to make it...It cooks up like an unseasoned hush puppy. Cheap and filling.
