Just trying to help out the couple of re s who think it is a bad idea to wish your own conference well or those that think it is exclusive to the SEC. Everyone does it bc people with normal sized brains realize it is the smart thing to do. These are only a couple of examples, there's more threads if you look around the bbs boards.

That's just them stating that they are proud to be in a major conference and associated with great academic schools whereas they were in a conference practically dissolving before. This doesn't mean they are trying to live vicariously through the success of others which is the real reason Aggy roots so hard for other SEC schools.

Wasn't Aggy in a similar position? The Big 12 went to and they ended up in a great, stable conference. It's beyond just that though...click on the ACC links or visit their page on your own--they were pulling for GT and FSU to represent the conference well. I was pulling for Marshall bc it's the best CUSA has. Same for all the other CUSA schools in bowls.

Not to mention the fact that money from bowl games are divided equally amongst all conference members...major bowls=more money. It not only helps the conference's prestige but also helps financially. In OOC you root for your brethren it's just common sense and has nothing to do with living vicariously through others.
