This game was won long ago...a loss hurts seedings, that's a reason to care.
Actually, it happened all the time in 2003...even in the playoffs. Turnovers and missed FTs were the biggest killers of that 2002-2003 championship squad.

we're just not mentally in it for 48 mins... heck, make that 24 mins... the Spurs need to put together a solid 48 min game...
i ing hate missed FTs. they're ing free points. this is atrocious.
Pop never even uses that strategy and chose a time when the team is missing a ton of fts.
The worst team in the NBA in the last 5 minutes
duncan t was the deference
Seeding kinda matters don't you think? No need to lose games that should have been won.
This is a pretty crappy team right now. I'm beginning to think they have nothing left in the tank......
Did Parker do anything special tonight? Nope. And he's been out awhile.
It seems like a hundred years ago since June 15, doesn't it?
he'll be mad... but ok
do not worry everyone here will blame tp he came back tonight
the west wasn't as compe ive as it is now... They basically had the Kings and Lakers as powerhouses... This season, we have Houston, Warriors, OKC, Clippers, Mavs, Memphis all as legit contenders... Spurs won't be able to come back from this. Losing games in this fashion has killed the spurs numerous times. You could tell the season was over by losing to ALBA Berlin.
Bad pass by Tim. Mills had already streaked past and was turning to the basket, starting to look away when Tim passed it. He tried to turn and get a hand on it, but the easy pass would've been going to Manu (who had just hit 2 free throws) in the backcourt.
Pop, who was no genius tonight, should dtart the bench next game
Nice call![]()
Doubt it was Pop. I think Green was just overzealous on the steal attempt.
FWIW, I called the 105-104 Pistons win. I KNEW the Spurs would up the inbound. It's just who they are.
Only a half game in front of Phoenix whose in the 8 seed currently. Also 10 losses back of Golden State for the 1 seed. No chance they finish in front of the Warriors.
Remember SA has never won without the #1 seed.
We'd better play hard against Phoenix or we'll be in 8th place after next game.
good free throw shooter
49-33, book it.![]()
2007 Dallas was the number 1 seed. Spurs were 3rd.
