More racism coming from the West....I'm not falling for the Je Suis Charlie chants when you want to ignore a tragedy far worse.

Why did the world ignore Boko Haram's Baga attacks?

As media coverage focused on the Paris terror attacks last week, more than 2000 Nigerians were reported to have been killed by Islamist militants. What makes one massacre more newsworthy than another?

    From your article:

"Reporting in northern Nigeria is notoriously difficult; journalists have been targeted by Boko Haram, and, unlike in Paris, people on the ground are isolated and struggle with access to the internet and other communications. Attacks by Boko Haram have disrupted connections further, meaning that there is an absence of an online community able to share news, photos and video reports of news as it unfolds."

Why don't you take a trip to Nigeria and report back what is really going on if you are truly concerned.

It's Nigeria's own government that is scared to act against these militants. Boko Haram has been running rampant creating chaos aross Nigera for years and the government does not act. It's sad, but this isn't a result of West vs East.

The Nigerian govmt is happy because Boko is targeting the govmt opponents.

the Nigerian media does not dare report anything for fear of retaliation from Boko or government.

so yeah, the OP is completely lost on the topic
