But I am disappointed that he was the lone Spur without a tie at the White House. How many humans on planet earth get to be honored by the President of the United States? I still love the guy, just disagree. I'm sure Mr. Duncan will have sleepless nights worrying about what I thought of him.

"Everybody is different," Robinson said. "Tim is very respectful. You're not going to find anybody more respectful, but he's also himself. And he's not afraid to be himself, and I think that's fantastic. I think that the president is not worried about that. Trust me. I think that's the least of his issues.

Relax, it's just his job you know. He's like you and me...

+ He's one of the most "laid back" president ever seen.

But good thread for the spurs forum though!

Would you expect an Annapolis grad to respect a guy who skipped out on military service?

(not being serious before the nasty comments come in)

He's the president, not the king. The team is visiting a US citizen in a house paid for by US citizens, and they can wear whatever the they want.

Put servile OP on a ship and get him outta here.

To the idiot who posted the above.. thats not "Muslim headgear".. thats a "Sikh turban". Sikhism is a religion in India that emerged out of a social justice movement and had to taken on repression from a political Islamist regime (whose predecessors were also Muslims but were tolerant and secular in a way though). The "dude" is Dr. Manmohan Singh, the former prime minister of India who was a Cambridge educated economist originally and later turned to politics.

To the topic.. who cares what a person wears as long as it is nothing stupid or generally offensive.

I am one of those guys who has never been comfortable wearing a bloody tie. And I found it even more after reading about the origins of the tie, which were basically worn as psychological protection against spear attacks!

Tim is one of those enlightened souls who go by what they do and how they do it and not by what they wear and how they wear it!

As someone who never grew up in a culture where the community regularly wore ties, I find it no big deal. Never saw the purpose or use for having one. Growing up in Hawaii the only people who wear ties are lawyers who have to be in court that day and very few business executives. It's just something not in our culture, and I don't even own a tie. Timmy grew up in the Virgin Islands and it's probably similar as well over there.
