IDK. What is that?
If so, did you build your own?

We've considered it at the office here. Ultimately, we already made some investment in a couple of Drobos, and already had an HD hooked up to an Airport station, so it wasn't worth it, but I was always intrigued about it.
I've seen a lot of people swear by the Synology stuff. You can get a disk-less 2-bay from them for about $200. Unless you already have a disposable box to run FreeNAS on, it's probably a great deal, considering it's also much smaller than a regular PC.
Something like this:

I like those enclosures, but I think I've decided on going the DIY route.
I'll probably recycle my old HTPC as a NAS and build a new, more powerful HTPC. I built the old HTPC on a shoestring budget, so it struggles with some transcoding tasks.
yeah, if you already have the hardware, FreeNAS is probably the way to go...
I didn't even know he was in jail. Indeed, Free Nas!

I think I may just set up a RAID array on my HTPC. The MOBO already supports RAID, so should be a simple set up in the BIOS.
