Los Angeles guard Kobe Bryant, who injured his shoulder in the second half of Wednesday's game against the Pelicans in New Orleans, suffered a torn rotator cuff, preliminary results of MRI exam show.
The MRI was taken in San Antonio. Bryant will return to Los Angeles later on Thursday and will be examined by team doctors on Friday. An update on his condition will be issued at that time, the Lakers said.

Damn.
well so much for jerking off in the shower.
TJ surgery is for the elbow. Patty Mills had surgery for a torn rotator cuff in July and was playing before the end of December. Kobe could be ready for the start of the season.
Time to just pack it up and call it a career.
He will warrior back two games before the AS break, the injure it again 2 days after the all star break.
that's for your elbow, not shoulder
hopefully the lakers go on a tear and make the playoffs without him![]()
This. his body is betraying him despite the jokes his heart is willing but it's time to ...
Let it Go! Que up that video!
Patty played through it, I'm sure he can warrior it out until the ASG.
If so just go ahead and name Scott COTY and give him a lifetime contract.
Heck, a staff of Pop (HC and General of Nasty), Phil (triangle co-ordinator) RC (flow offense maestro) and Tibbs (Secretary of Defense) couldnt coach these scrubs to a plyoff in the West maybe not even the East ...

Unless he's pulling a stunt and faking an injury to rest in a meaningless season this will be the 3rd straight season ending injury. It's an end of an era. It's over in my eyes. As a Laker fan we're better off now. We can start fresh and move past the Kobe years.
Agreed. However, most Kobe fans expect him to play into his 40s like MJ
years from now when the lakers have another all-time great/franchise player, they'll throw kobe under the bus to prop him up. that will be a funny day
