Unless he's pulling a stunt and faking an injury to rest in a meaningless season this will be the 3rd straight season ending injury. It's an end of an era. It's over in my eyes. As a Laker fan we're better off now. We can start fresh and move past the Kobe years.
This. OF course I am a HUGE Kobe apologist. But let's be real he hasnt finished any of the last 3 seasons on the court and the one before that required him to inject baby fetuses via blood centrifuge just to get back to a pretty good year and then the achilles happened.

    Time to move on Kobe.

Serves him right for blowing off the Suns Game. He basically just didnt feel like playing.

    mamba warrior

BTW Patty played for half a year and won a championship with the same injury. I'm sure Kirby will be lauded for being a warrior if he plays through it though.

Everybody knows Kobe is done except for Kobe. That baseline dunk he performed while tearing his rotator cuff was a basic basketball move.

Damn, this fool needs to call it a career already..I thought he would have re-injured the achilles, but this just goes to show how brittle and worn down this clown is..

$48.5 is for two seasons, still a move that set us back 20 years though. It was basically 'buying the rights' to sell Kobe merchandise for life. It wasnt about Kobe leading this team anywhere

What are LA's chances in your opinion of attracting decent free agents this off-season? (Dragic, Marc Gasol, Rondo, etc)

The Lakers should take this as a great opportunity to sell Kobe branded medical supplies..officially licensed Kobe scalpel, arm slings, protective boot, Kobe Bryant wheelchair and officially licensed sleeping gas.
