Hopdoddy is solid.
Just had a new one open near me called Burger Grind. Holy it's amazing. I've been every Saturday for the past month. Gonna have heart disease before spring.
Good places near you? Austin/SA area? I'm always down to hit up a good local burger place when I'm down that way.
They put grease on the buns? Damn
None in the Bronx that I know of. Gotta hit downtown for the good food here.
If you're passing through SA and want to contribute to that heart disease goal of yours, try these:
Bobby J's - Technically in Helotes, but it's 5 minutes outside 1604.
Armadillo's - ing amazing burgers here..they offer the ginormous burgers if you're into presentation. You can get one of the giant burgers and split it with someone.
Fattboy Burgers and Dogs - Good place to catch a Spurs game IMO.
lol fat s
this is why mcdonalds is going down the toilet, places like these.
like morbidly obese burger lovers' poop
Hopdoddy is the best burger chain IMO.
Hopdoddy is right down the street from the hotel I'll be staying at. Will check it out for sure.![]()
You in Austin? Let me know if you need any other recommendations
Who goes to McDonalds when they want a real burger? I don't think these places compete with McDonalds. I think Taco Bells resurgence and the healthier Subway push has more impact. There's always been better burgers than McDonalds.
I get fast food burgers when I receive coupon in the mail "2 for 3 or 4"
But for the most part fast food is good for the additional corky stuff you can order like nuggets, tacos or onion rings
I cannot attest to any recent years for a burger joint, but those years back when I lived in the area, there was no better place than Big Jim's.

If you are ever in the Mid Columbia, crossing the Columbia River between Oregon and Washington at highway 197, check this place out.
I'm a Chris Madrid's fan. Still as awesome as it was back when he was running the place.
Just for one night then headed back the next day. I will need a breakfast taco place for in the morning though. I'm staying on I35 near 183.
Taco Deli, Mi Madres or Torchy's are all good options. Taco Deli & Torchy's have plenty of locations, and Mi Madres should be on the way back to SA (of 35 & Manor: http://www.mimadresrestaurant.com )
Veracruz has some of the best tacos, but all their trucks are downtown.
I'll be in Austin all day, so I'll be looking for something in the general area of my hotel. I'll Google those and find a location close.
Pretty much. Fast food is just different textured filler to be dipped in some kind of sauce. If I take it home, it's a given that I'm putting Franks Red Hot on something. And I love dipping a Quarterpounder in BBQ sauce.
Is Chesters still legit? Haven't been in years...Also, I know you either hate it or love it, but is Biff Buzzby's still around?
Cheaters is legit. Green chili cheeseburger is solid. Sam's burger joint make a fine burger as well.

Order a few extra tortillas.
Cash only.
Almost went down there the last time I was in Austin. Been wanting to go ever since I saw them on Man vs. Food.
Lived up the hype. You definitely won't leave hungry.
