To be fair, the 2001 Pats were much better than the 2001 Raiders in the regular season especially coming into the playoffs where they had won 6 in a row. The bad weather allowed the Raiders to compete in the game who weren't very good that year. The weather was horrible and really neutralized what the Pats had done well the last few weeks of the year. Even if the Raiders won the tuck rule game, their defense wouldn't have stood a chance against the Rams offense. That game would have gotten ugly.
Pittsburgh had an outstanding defense that season and Kordell was a viable MVP candidate until he struggled the last two games of the year. That team was still 13-3 and had the second highest point differential in the league and dominated the defending Super Bowl champions Ravens in the divisional round.

stewart sucked and always sucked as a QB. he was best as "slash" when he would do everything. that season he threw 14 TD's, 11 picks, and threw 3 INT's in the AFC le game

The Bucs won in spite of him. That defense was so damn good they would have won at least 2 Super Bowls with a mediocre QB.
He had 14 TDs and 6 picks till the last two games where he struggled. He was a solid starting QB, but could never win in the AFC le game. But they had special teams problems as well in that game against New England. He was a big reason why they were 13-3. He played really well against a good Ravens defense in the divisional round.

Saints beat the Bucs twice that season. The first game in the year and a game later in the year on Sunday Night. Saints had an elite offense that season with Brooks, Deuce, a beast o-line, Joe Horn, Donte Stallworth. Bucs had trouble stopping Deuce that year. Saints were 7-4 coming into that Sunday night game with the Bucs who were 9-3. Saints won, but Aaron Brooks tore his rotator cuff in that game. Saints diagnosed way too late and kept playing him even after he reaggravated it the next game at Baltimore. Saints were 9-4 going into the last 3 games against 3 horrible teams and had Jake Delhomme ready to start, but Jim Haslett stuck with Brooks who struggled mightily and the Saints lost all 3 games finishing 9-7 and missing the playoffs. Delhomme left for Carolina the following year and led them to the Super Bowl. If Haslett goes with JaKe, Saints easily win the last 3 finishing 12-4 and winning the NFC South pushing the Bucs to the Wild card where they lost in the two previous seasons. Saints fans give Brooks a lot of flack for that since they loved Delhomme who was local, but that was on Haslett and the training staff who kept clearing him. Brooks was a really good QB before his rotator cuff injury.

Aaron Brooks and the Saints had some good years... were always solid defensively and were a good running team. Had just enough passing game with Joe Horn, etc

I rooted for those Bucs teams when Shaun King was the QB. He was a stud at Tulane with RichRod as his offensive coordinator and I followed his career when he went to Tampa. He won alot of games, but couldn't get them over the hump. Brooks was really good from 2000-2002, but was never the same when he tore his rotator cuff. He lost that zip he had which he needed since he wasn't good at anticipating throws. Saints fans turned on him because of Delhomme, but before his injury, he was really good. He never had a good defense after the 2000 season which had the best front four in the league and routinely mugged Kurt Warner. That 2000 team had the best d-line and best o-line in the league and were on a 6 game winning streak when they lost Ricky Williams to a broken ankle and other starters as well by the time the playoffs started. They beat the Rams in the wild card game without Williams and Joe Horn. Brooks was spectacular in that game outdueling Warner.

i got into an argument years ago at a job where me and this puerto rican whigger were arguing Peyton vs Aaron Brooks. Yes I'm a Fivehead apologist, but this guy was literally arguing Brook was better than Manning in 2005. It was so stupid I didn't even know how to proceed. This was also after Brooks greatest play, the backwards pass. Looks like that play is deleted off YouTube but it's a must-see if you can find it.
Brad Johnson wasn't a great QB but he did have a career year in 2002. Dilfer is the pick for me and it isn't even close, IMO. I would think a Bucs fan would agree with that, tbh.

I could see in the early 2000s when Brooks was really good. In fact, Brooks outplayed Manning in a regular season game in the Superdome in 2001 when the Saints easily beat the Colts. Brooks was nearly flawless that game. The 2001 Colts were bad, but the Saints defense wasn't that great either. Honestly, Brooks is the 2nd best QB in Saints history behind Brees. It was unfortunate what happened to his shoulder, especially losing Delhomme the following season. Delhomme would have run Mike McCarthy's offense really well with Horn, Deuce, Stallworth, Jerome Pathon, and that o-line which was strong.
I think 2001 Dilfer was better than 2002 Johnson. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like Dilfer made alot more big plays for the Ravens than Johnson did for that Bucs team. I'm not looking at the numbers, but I'm going by memory.
Everyone forgets how good those ans defenses were in 1999 and 2000. Fisher/Gregg Williams did their things.
The addition of Keyshawn Johnson and the emergence of Joe Jurevicius definitely helped Brad Johnson in 2002.
I'll still stick with Brad Johnson tbh....but Trent Dilfer is a viable option also.
This SB winning QB played 13 years. In 10 of those years he threw more INT;s than TD;s. His career completion %...50.0% His career passing rating a pathetic....65.5.
