Kawhi Leoanrd - Great offensive production from kawhi tonight. He didn't hesitate with the three ball and was aggressive all night...Defensively, he was the best player out there. He needs to do a better job rebounding the ball..can't rely too much on the bigs who consistently fumble rebounds. A
Tim Duncan - Another double-double tonight..It was a meh-meh night from Timmy offensively. He turned the ball over quite a bit.. and defensively he still looks really slow out there with the PnR..but he Secured the boards and allowed kawhi and Tony to run on transition with his rebounding. -B
Manu Ginobili - The main catalyst of the Spurs run in the first quarter..He was making plays for everyone tonight. Team Leading 9 Assists..Really, IMO, the best player tonight. Defensively, he's been really good the last 5 games. +A
Danny Green - I love what I'm seeing from Danny in terms of his reaction to reduction in minutes..A season ago, you bench Danny and he will give you a couple of bad games before he gets back to his normal playing level but in the last two games, he's been consistently good despite Belli eating many of his minutes. Tonight, offensively he was aggressive and hit some dribble shots in the fourth. Defensively, he shat on his matchup but that's not saying much..B
Tony Parker - The best defensive performance from him this season, but that's not saying much considering the compe ion but it's a step towards the right direction. Offensively, he was pretty darn efficient tonight..needs to work on his court Vision. -A
Aaron Baynes - He hit a couple of shots, but really his main job offensively is to make sure he sets up good Screens to allow for good penetration and I thought he did an OK job today. Needs improvement for sure, and nowhere near a Tiago splitter of last year level, but it's a good start. Defensively, I don't think Aaron will ever be a decent defender..He works hard for sure, but he just is average or below average..can't really get a lot from this game because of how weak the opposition was today. B
Boris Diaw - He just doesn't look good this year..Tonight against a ty opposition, he was poor defensively. offensively, his ability to move the ball and him just being on the floor really helps the team move from one side to another..But overall, It's hard for me to talk about Boris because tonight was just another bored night from him. C
Tiago Splitter - I don't think benching Tiago is doing any good to his confidence..defensively, he just looks disinterested at times and offensively his cute attempts are vulnerable to blocks. I would love to seem him play extended minutes so that he can regain his old form..Part of the reason why Tony was averaging a few more points last year was Tiago's ability to set good screens...Setting good screens is like making a good build pass in soccer..The ball movement starts from there. C
Patty Mills - Patty was part of the team that made a huge run in the first..He moved the ball in the first quarter with manu. Looked confident in general out there. defensively, can't take much from this game...But he did get outplayed by that white dude in Miami. +C
Matt Bonner - I don't want to talk about Bonner, but..I'll try anyway. Poor on both ends of the floor and a really embarrassing attempt from the three..-C
Marco Bellineli - Average night on both ends of the floor..made some plays offensively..Defensively he was awful by spurs standard and average by his standard...C

Boris needs an injury, don't know if he'll recover even playing back up minutes.
Someone tweeted Diaw is on a diet, said he has nothing but coffee...damn I just realized it lines up with his contract, he has to maintain his weight in order to earn his bonuses lmao.
nothing but coffee?
He doesnt feel like thrwoing up?
Not if it's good coffee.
Manu w/ a better grade than your client??

Thanks for the grades. I think benching Tiago was done to put him with Manu. Also, Miami had no real bigs, so the Spurs could afford to start Baynes.
Coffee can be used as a diuretic to help aid in expelling water weight, you can shed upwards of 20+lbs of water weight, may be what he's doing/did...
Or he could just be eating out all the time, ate all the food in the house.
Agree for the most part. Spurs just did what they needed to do so there's not much to take away from this one outside Tony looking good and Kawhi continuing to own the Heat.
Belly had some good defensive possessions.
Has there been a player in the last 15 years that gets as many "made you my " open court rips that lead to breakaway dunks than Kawhiit happens 2-3 times a game it seems.
Please, dear God, let Spoelstra take it over, when Pop retires.
Agree, I actually was okay with the Beli we saw last night. Was not a complete liability defensively and bought Danny some needed rest. If Wade had been active I'm sure it'd be a different story.
You are such a ing re . No wonder you swallow Apa's in every thread.
Old, broke D-Wade would have macerated Beli's tomatoes.
Yes, I supposed it is possible that some may use coffee thinking it is a diuretic; but they would be wrong. It is the same as drinking the same amount of water:

Anyway, a water diet is stupid. Your energy levels will crash, especially exercising.
Thanks apalisoc!
Even if it wasn't the best game of Tiago, Boris or the rest of the bench, except Manu, it was nice to see how they came out and gave us great energy in the third quarter.
It was a good win but Kawhi-game's incompatibility with Tony is becoming more apparent.
That's why the offense looks so slow the first minutes of every game and for the same reason Kawhi looks better playing with the second unit.
Kawhi's offense style isn't compatible with Tony attacking the paint and two bigs like Splitter or Baynes and Tim. The only way that Leonard can fit there is as spot-up shooter like in the first half, but if he is reduced to that role again, it becomes counterproductive to the development of his game.
It's worrisome that the only way Pop has found to involve Leonard, has been keep him playing with the bench long minutes.
Hopefully Pop won't start with his "Beli experiment"...It seemed like he benched Danny just because Marco needs more minutes to find his form and gain rhythm.
Agree. If there's anyone who can help to improve Tiago's game this season, it's Manu.
that ... Coach Bud will be heading back.
I don't think that Kawhi playing lots of minutes with the second unit has anything to do with compatibility or lack thereof with Tony or anybody else. It has to do with the fact that he is only 23 years old and didn't play for tons of the first part of the season due to pink-eye and hand bruises. Thus he should have the energy and stamina to play more minutes than any of the other starters, frankly, and he is just about the ONLY defensive presence in the second unit.
It is notable that Kawhi got his career high in threes in a game where we looked more like last season's Spurs than we have all year. That being said, he got them because he wasn't playing iso ball (posting up in the low post or driving into the paint himself). He was scoring as the 3 position normally does within the Spurs offensive sets, i.e., as a spot up three point shooter who gets the ball after a guard has penetrated into the paint, draws the defense, and then kicks it out to the perimeter. Then, when his defense creates shots for himself or others he can score non-traditionally in transition or however the play develops from a defensive steal or rebound.
Would your name imply, I've always wondered, that you would have some inside knowledge of this?
