Kawhi 2.9 WS and a .191WS/48 FMVP winner
Manu 2.3 WS and a .184WS/48
Was it Manu or Kawhi? Serious Discussion.
Kawhi 2.9 WS and a .191WS/48 FMVP winner
Manu 2.3 WS and a .184WS/48
Did you say that FMVP Kawhi was our 2nd best player in the playoffs?
It's official, dabom hates Kawhi.
Terrible thread backfiring.![]()
I think everyone acknowledges that TD was our best player.
This.
Gonna be honest...didn't expect to see those two names on OP's poll. Typo?
Nah. Duncan was our best and most consistent player.
The ty little Kawhi krew about to rumble with each other.

"No, no, I'm not gonna be your monkey." - Jon Stewart, Crossfire
yo poll clown
Wait....that doesn't sound right.
- Manu and Tiago were far out the MVPs of the 1st round series against Dallas.
- Gino did not have an outstanding series against Portland, but he didn't suck either.
- He was critical to close out OKC (he even had a really good game 4 in OKC, IIRC).
- He was instrumental rallying the team back in Game 5 of the Finals after a piss poor start, and was a major component of the ball movement in that series.
He posted a PER of 20.3 for the playoffs, his best rating since the 2010-2011 playoffs, and he did it at 36 years old.
On the other hand...
- Kawhi was consistently good on defense
- Despite the multiple blowouts, he played a solid series against OKC, and I though he set the tone in Game 6 with that dunk over Ibaka, the first play of that game. He also had the critical steal in OT that basically deflated the Thunder.
- While he was 'mediocre' (Pop's own words) in Game 1 and 2 of the Finals, he really came through in the last 3.
He posted a PER of 18.7 for the playoffs, but PER doesn't do his defense enough justice.
It's certainly close, and I'm damn glad we had both on our team, because we weren't winning #5 otherwise. The fact that we're having this convo actually goes to show what an amazing playoffs Gino had at such an advanced point in his career, especially after his playoffs the previous season. I don't think anybody on the team embodied 'redemption' quite like him.
dabom has an opinion and a very valid one..Not sure why people are following dabom around.
rookie poster of year i say.
It's almost as if Kawhi's supporters aren't a bunch of blind conformist player-fans like the Enriquesuckers.
damn, I should've added that Kawhi also had that critical steal against OKC... let me edit and add it
Voted Manu on accident lol.
Leonard was huge against the very best though. You can't blame him for the Dallas series, Parker's dribble dribble dribble, and the bigs crowding him in the post.
Green/Leonard have a huge impact on Duncan's ability to defend which doesn't show up on the stat sheet.
I agree. People seem to think there's a party line and .
Thanks for the nomination btw.![]()
i saw ur vote and was likelol
what a hipster Kawhi playerfan take.
2014 playoffs advanced stats:
TD:
PER: 21.1 win shares/48: 0.204
Kawhi:
PER: 18.7 win shares/48: 0.191
Timmy also averaged more points, rebounds, assists, and blocks per game.
He was, but every series mattered, especially Dallas which ended up being the only team taking us the distance.
But really, you could pick either and you wouldn't be wrong, IMO.
