Holy , Struggle might be the most cancerous teammate since prime Kirby

Wonder if he'll regret going full Pippen and demanding that the last play be run for him when he doesn't have Lynch around to carry his ass anymore?

tbh I haven't seen a RB this overrated maybe ever. He was garbage in Buffalo, benefited from zone blocking in Seattle the same way all those ty Denver RB's did, and then got mythical God-like status for one huge run against a ty Saints defense. He's decent but not a top RB by any stretch.

Obviously you know nothing about running backs. The guy averages 4.3 for a career, Do I really need that long list of great backs who averaged less, how about Emmitt Smith?

Lynch was great at Buffalo rushing for over a 1000 as a rookie. In his last three Seattlle seasons he is averaging 4.5 a carry, that is fantastic!

Marshawn Lynch is the most dynamic runner in the game today. And only a fool/blind man wouldn't see it.

I never heard anyone criticize Bart Starr for having Jim Taylor/Paul Hornung and a defense with 4 HOFer to be on it. Who ridiculed Terry Bradshaw with Franco/Rocky Bliear two 1000 yard rusher and two HOF receivers in Swann/Stallworh and a defense with 4 HOFer to be on it? HOFer Bob Griese had HOFer Larry Csonka and Eugene "Mercury" Morris/Jim Kiick.

Don Meredith had Don Perkins, Roger the Dodger had Tony Dorsett, Troy had Emmitt and now Romo has Murray.

Dan Marino had Duper (9.4 sprinter) and Clayton and Tony Nathan and Nat Moore.

Fouts had Chuck Muncie, John Jefferson (Wes Chandler) Charlie Joiner and Kellen Winslow.

Otto Graham had Marion Motley, Mac Speedie, Dante Levelli.

Jim Kelly had Thurman Thomas/Andre Reed.

Johnny U had Lenny Moore, Ray Berry, John Mackey.

Broadway Joe had Matt Snell, Emerson Boozer, Don Maynard and George Sauer.

Montana had Freddie Solomon, Dwight Clarke, Roger Craig, Jerry Rice, John Taylor, Bert Jones.

Peyton had Edgerrin James, Dallas Clarke, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, the Thomas's. Wes Welker, Emanuel Sanders.

Russell Wilson has had Marshawn Lynch.

He wasn't terrible in Buffalo, he just got Wally Pipped by Fred Jackson during his legal troubles. He's also pretty much had to carry the offense in Seattle in the most pass-happy era in NFL history because his team's quarterback is a game-managing fraud.

He wasn't great in Buffalo by any stretch--but to be fair outside of the years we had Levitre at LG, only Eric wood has been an NFL-worthy lineman for the Bills.

Even when Lynch isn't barreling through people he always seems to get positive yardage. He's also routinely facing 8-man fronts moreso than any back aside from Peterson, yet he still produces, is an excellent blocker, wears defenses down, and sets up the PA passing game.

he was certainly a disappointment in Buffalo. not that it was necessarily on him, but they didn't get the production they expected with that draft pick. as Mono said in the OP he has benefitted from Seattle's run blocking scheme. Tom Cable is still running their O-Line, and with Cable's zone blocking scheme even Justin Fargas looked like a really good NFL running back for some time

Lynch is pretty underrated as a receiver though. he's a natural hands catcher, whereas most running backs need to body-catch it

Exactly, and behind a below average offensive line. There are few rushers in the league who would succeed in that situation.

He gained over 3000 yards in three seasons at Buffalo, that's great for a three years back.

his rushing numbers were so ty you had to include receiving yards why don't you add kick return yardage while you're at it.

Marshawn Lynch is unique. A 215 pound power back with good speed and elusiveness (not too be confused with Sanders, Sayers) Most guys who beat up defenders like he does are big cats like Alstott, Csonka, Riggins, Campbell. But none of them could catch the ball like he does.

Both Simpson and erson were 215 pounders but while more zooooommm they didn't break tackles like this guy does. They didn't wear down defenses like he does. How many times have we seen him held pretty much in check for a half and then in the second half he starts breaking off 8-12-16 runs?

Cookie Gilchrist 250 pounds, Christian Okoye 255, Jim Brown 230, Mack "The Truck" Lee Hill 225 and way back when Marion Mottley** 240 the most powerful backs I've ever seen. Lynch is right there on the edge.

    Player A 3264 combined rushing/receiving yds, 18 TD's thru 3 seasons

    Player B 2948 combined rushing/receiving yds, 19 TD's thru 3 seasons

    Player A is Marshawn Lynch
    Player B is Trent Richardson

But no, tell me all about how great Lynch was in Buffalo

Stupid, you always count receiving yards. Are you really this ing dumb? And...to have two 1000 yards seasons right out of the gate is great! Of course being an idiot you wouldn't know that.......either!

Compare his first three seasons with O.J.Simpsons, tell me what you find. Oh yeah....... got!

The word "great" sure gets used pretty liberally in the NFL Forum

    Travis Henry's first 3 seasons:

    3523 rushing yards, 27 TDs
    646 rec yds, 2 TDs

Willis McGahee's first 3 seasons (not counting 2003 when he was out for the year):

    3365 rushing yds, 24 TDs
    503 receiving yds

    Antowain Smith:

2578 rushing yards, 22 TDs (only started in 25 of first 48 games, too).
    220 receiving yards
Had 2 rushing TD's in the forward-lateral playoff game too

Marshawn is my boy and he's been invaluable to Seattle, but he wasn't great in Buffalo--a lot of that has to do with the O-line and having J.P. Losman or Trent Edwards at QB, though...

Anytime a rookie comes in and knocks out two 1000 yard seasons, that's great work. That's why you brought him in.

You mean that John L. Williams who never had even a 900 yard season and had a 4.0 average per carry, hahahaha!!!!!!!

Dude, this was about great backs...ok? , ya wanna talk David Hughes, how about Sherman Smith a Miami of Ohio QB who was their first good running back, yep they made a running back out of him.
