Two first rounders though? they have to win it all to justify it but it is working well so far.

Why? If you draft a bigman in the middle of the first round who can put up 10.6 and 8.4 on 58% shooting while being capable defensively, you did pretty well. So giving up two picks in the twenties doesn't seem too bad, especially in hindsight where the trade seemed to turn their season around.

Gotta win though, the rest is just shuffling. If they win it's a steal if they lose they have less resources to acquire the piece they need.

Disagree, either way this move was necessary because of Andy V's annual injury. Two late first round picks wouldn't amount to for the Cavs and a 10/9 center would be the best case from those picks most likely anyway. And this is a franchise that drafted Anthony ing Bennett #1 overall, so I wouldn't put my faith in them drafting any future stars at that position tbh

I don't think it's a 2015 championship or bust move. They got a nice starting center for a couple of crappy picks and can afford to have Varejao play less minutes in the future. I'm not sure they could get a starting 5 like Mozgov with just the midlevel exception in free agency. And now they can still use their midlevel this offseason to get some bench help.

I agree mozgof can be a nice piece moving forward. And they are closer now to a le than pre trade but the NY trade has been almost as helpful. I think the pressure is on to win period even though LeBron downplayed it. If things don't go well this postseason, maybe Love leaves. Things are going well and with it expectations have been raised. If they win everyone is happy they lose different story

You are right but Spurs and other teams have found good players at the back of the draft. And they still gave up assets. Maybe a better center/player becomes available but you have less picks to deal that is all I am saying so far its been a good move.
