Did you check that the guys that were "spermshooting" about Amare upstairs are the same guys saying he sucks here? If not your comment is irrelevant.

hilarious to see spurfans and all the spermshooting that was going on upstairs over the possibility of getting Amare for 15-20 bench minutes a game, and the second he goes to dallas for the exact same purpose, suddenly he sucks, its a horrible acquisition, and hes the worst basketball player on earth

Hilarious to see the backpedalling after Josh Smith decided to go to the Rockets instead of the Mavs.

Stat might be good, but im predicting his knee problems will emerge at the worst time. Especially how O'Neal was talked about as the saviour.... now Stat has become the go to guy.

Brandon Wright was that glue guy and more important than mavs fans want to admit

Stop it. Josh Smith sucks, I'd rather have Amare since Dwight is out for the season. And don't even try to say "he's not out for the season"

    He's out for the season

The Spurs dont reshape their main pieces every year. They got this team together here in 012 and let it gel and got a le and a Finals appearance, they did not blow it up afterwards.

They add a piece or two as they did in the 00's le runs but usually keep the core. Mavs have had so many re shapes it's hard to keep up.
If every team could put together a Big 3 of the caliber of Tony, Tim and Manu and convince somebody of Pop's caliber to coach them, then they would. Outside of a few incompetent franchises like the Knicks or the Wolves, most teams could execute such a plan. The Spurs have shown what that kind of continuity can do in terms of keeping your window open, but for most teams it's not realistic. Stuff happens - injuries, salary cap problems, contract disputes, etc. It's very hard to keep a team together in the NBA for longer than 3-4 years. What the Spurs have done is very special and outside the norm in terms of keeping their core together in contention for so long. I don't think Dallas has a problem being impatient and shuffling deck chairs, maybe when Cuban first bought the team and tried to buy his way into contention, but not anymore. But compared to the Spurs, any team looks ad hoc in comparison.

Plus Cubes kept Carlisle around, who is clearly one of the better coaches in the game, which goes to show that not everything is a knee jerk reaction...

Amare deserves to be in that thread of name players that don't do to progress a team. They're just name players.

Yeah, because your opinions are very relevant.

Kawhi Tony Allen/Shane Battier type player
Babious (or however his name was) having Nash shooting touch, Rose athleticism and Parker's speed and finishing ability.

I have Pop, Carlisle and Thibs in the upper echelon... even if all of them have flaws, they're clearly a step above the rest right now...

That is true, I still would have liked to see the Mavs keep that 011 team intact and see if they could have made another run though, blew that up too soon IMO. Last years team as well gelled late and played great the last half of the year into the playoffs, then they go blow that one up as well. They are better so far this year though and put together a nice team, I will give them that. Time will tell.

Josh Smith is actually league average from 3 with the Rockets while he has been here
He's had a mini hot streak like anyone who is poor at something can. If someone bats .220 for a season they will have a few 4-4 games mixed in maybe even a week or two where they bat .300 thats why you look at a larger sample size. He's at 28% for his career on over 1300 attempts so there'll be regression to the mean. This hot streak is even worse since its fool's gold and is only gonna encourage him to keep shooting.
