So the Thunder wouldn't pay the luxury tax for James Harden but they'll do it for Brook Lopez? They'll be well over the tax next season if they trade Reggie + Perk for Brook and Brook picks up his $16+M player option.
Took me a while to get the joke.
Edit: I thought Garnett to Minny was the joke but Woj says it's actually possible.
Joke's on me, I suppose.
afflalo to portland done
KC trying to build the most poorly constructed team in NBA history. Waiters, Durant, Westbrook and Lopez all on the same team?
rofl
Robonsin, Barton, Claver and protected 1st for Afflalo and Gee
Not afraid of any of these rumors tbh. Lol Brook Lopez.
I believe he is at least 3 times better than the Great Kendrick Perkins
Actually, he probably isn't. All he does is score on isolations. That's the last thing OKC needs.
Lopez is a big that needs to be fed. Good luck thinking Chimp will play along with that![]()
He can shoot spot up jumpers pretty well, can't he?
Anyways, I think playing him with the starting unit would be a bad decision. Obviously there aren't enough touches to go around, and he sure as isn't going to be contributing much defensively or on the boards. But he could work well if they played him with the bench. Highly doubt they're going to be bringing in a guy making $16 million/year so he can play on the bench though, and I doubt he'd want to do that too.
fearing Brook Lopez
RoLo >> Brook, tbh.
That Afflalo trade is a good one for Portland though.
Why would Washington do that? Surely there's another asset for them.
Brook Lopez, if healthy, would be a nice weapon for the Thunder, assuming Westbrook will not jack up threes, but instead feed the post. They've never had a post up big man, so I'm not so sure how that will work out. That said, Brook Lopez ends every season about two or three months early with a broken foot, so I'm not sure how many games he'll actually suit up for the Thunder.
salaries donīt match anyway...
