Kobe Bryant has an enormous list of accomplishments and individual accolades that he’s piled up during his career. Bryant will be going into his 20th season with the Los Angeles Lakers come October with five les and two NBA Finals MVPs to his credit, but only has one regular season MVP over the course of his illustrious career.
In an interview with Grantland’s Bill Simmons and Jalen Rose, Kobe was asked why he’s only got one MVP. Bryant answered quickly with the following statement:
“Because the media votes on it.”
While the focus has been on championships, Kobe admits it does bother him he only has one MVP award:
“It bothers me. Of course, it bothers me. You do want to win as many as you can.”

The same media that gives him 20-part interviews with his personal lapdog Stephen A. Smith so he can spin everything and deflect blame while his team is sucking? Jordan never blamed the media for his shortcomings, because he didn't really have any other than killing his own father but he did it and got away with it so I don't know if that's a shortcoming. Kobe killed Jerry just by being a bag and maybe transferred HIV to him through mouth-penisary contact.
Kobe on the other hand, finds every excuse in the world where as a guy like Wade says "I just didn't play well". Kobe never had the "didn't play well" response. It's always someone else or "injured".

He's lucky he got a Lifetime Achievement Award. someone should tell Kobe that MVPs typically carry a team.
