Kawhi will get the max because some other team will give it to him and the Spurs will match it not to end up empty handed... that's why it's not really the Spurs' choice.

Those numbers are for 5 games.. overall in the season.. they are almost par for course.

The Spurs are playing for a championship again and are working towards peak condition in a tough WC playoffs. The debate whether Kawhi deserves a max or not is academic and of no consequence to the main goal this season. It is a stupid argument to make in order to suggest that Parker is only as bad as the rest of the team. All kinds of numbers point out to the abysmal fall in Parker's standards this season. RPM numbers - the most relevant - point to Parker being as bad as the worst 5-10 PGs in the game. Thats a bad bad fall for a franchise player.

Small sample.. but without Parker and with Cory Joseph & Patty Mills, I reckon, the Spurs were atleast better. That shows up Parker even more because Mills and Joseph aren't Westbrook & Curry. They are Mills and Joseph.

Don't bracket all Parker critics under the same category. There are Parker-haters out there and there are Parker-critics out there. Its been almost a season and a half since Parker played at top-10 PG levels in the NBA and he is paid as much. Doesn't augur well for the Spurs.
