Manu needs to start for Danny so there will always be one of either Danny or Kawhi in the game, when those two are out the defense is crap
That might be the case ... but these Spurs players were a well oiled machine over the past seasons so I do not know how the assistant coaches might have ed it up so badly.
NBA watched the last 2 Finals closely and adapted. They know how to play the Spurs. good coaches like Carlisle, Van Gundy wrote the blueprint. Now it's on Spurs coaches to redesign the game. They are failing at doing this. This combined with the regression of Parker and the other big 2 and the failure of utilizing Kawhi correctly. And you have the season we are having.
Nobody is doing what Carlisle did. in clueless. They played man to man switching everything all series. Not one team has done that to the Spurs so far this year lol.
Actually, Pop has now been trying to do it defensively and it's failing big time.
yeah, nobody has been staying on our shooters. Nobody has been sending bigmen to obstruct the ballhandlers. nobody has been packing the driving lanes. nobody has been allowing our tall wings to hold the ball. nobody![]()
They used that 20 minutes to discus where to go for dinner that night.
More interested to hear what pop said.
"We are still only 4 games out of the 3rd seed." -Pop in locker room
Pop: "Tony, put that ing donut down and listen!"
Pops loving all this regress in production from alot of his players in regards to payroll. Gonna have some pay cuts going around soon.
Will that include refunds?
Pop: "Kawhi, say something for god's sakes!"
Fat Tony !!
but its only February
Every team in the league has the same excuses for losing. No one gives a . You win or you don't, stop making excuses or "worm turn" comments and either play or retire.
Seeing the Spurs' decline this season has reminded me of the Detroit Bad Boys decline. For a few years, they were so good, and then age finally caught up with them and while they could still beat good teams that took them lightly, they just didn't have it anymore. The Spurs have had a great run, and I wrote them off three years ago. While that was a mistake, let's be honest, when your best player is near 40, you don't have much gas left in the tank. We'll play out this season and finish with an 8th seed and then lose in the first round to a younger, hungrier team. And I have no problem with it as last year made it well worth what our rebuilding will be like over the next six years.
I don't think a brief 20 minute discussion is going to fix everything that's wrong with the team, but I'll take it.
they were probably waiting for Kawhi to finish a sentence
Holy crap..that Jeebus account needs to be shut down...I could see this in the deep south, but San Antonio????
