Tony Parker believes he can play as many as 20 years with the San Antonio Spurs.

“Why not?” Parker said. “The way I play, I think I can definitely play that long.”

“When I see (Lakers point guard) Steve Nash being an All-Star at 38, I feel like I've got the same kind of game,” he said. “Neither one of us jumps that much. We're sort of like the kings of layups and great pick-and-roll players, so I can see myself playing that long, too.”

“I take care of my body, and I've already told Coach Pop that after 2016 I will be done with the (French) national team. So I think I can play a long time.”

"I take care of my body" Keep phrase

Yeah b u t at least that franchise was able to defend their le once. We're 0-4 and dangerously close to being 0-5 in that regard.
I honestly don't care about the repeat accomplishment. Of course I want the Spurs to repeat but it doesn't make their past le runs any less impressive, especially 2014. TD is already the greatest player post-Jordan and the Spurs are the best franchise post-Jordan Bulls.

What grinds me though is what this team is going to look like with Enrique Bryant for the next 3 years while having one of Leonard/Green leave for other teams.

I really hope not. He said as long as he is still contributing which he is. However, this year has to be killing him from a compe ive standpoint and his kiddos might take precedence.
Yeah, at this point, my biggest worry is whether this could drive TD/Manu/Pop into retirement and Danny and Kawhi to want to go elsewhere. (Though Leonard won't have much choice in the short term).

A team with a losing streak but a winning record is no big deal in sports, its just so startling to see us like this. The 2012, 2013, and 2014 teams were so good, even 2011 was a dynamo in the regular season, such a drop off is still hard to deal with. Especially with out oldest player still so damn good.

I agree with benching TP at this point. Do we really think Pop will actually pull the trigger? If you only could combine Cojo's D and Patty's O......that would make it easy to bench basically his basketball son.

The way PATFO stood pat in the off-season with no plan b when Pau snubbed us shows they don't care about the repeat accomplishment, either, unfortunately.

I wish we could be like the Bulls right now. They lost their version of Enrique for the season.

Yeah, cojo is trash offensively but his defense and hustle is at least something. TP isn't giving us anything. I think Mills should start. He's a pest on defense and has good offense. TP can come off the bench until he finds his shot.

Yeah, they made the mistake of standing pat, but who would have thought that with the exception of Timmy that every one of the rotation guys would decline so significantly? The long runs really killed this team sooner than expected plus Pop's loyalty to Enrique.

Kinda hard to explain. I always thought we'd go down with injuries, yet here we are, stinking up the gym with a healthy roster.
They are moving backwards man, they were actually better with injuries earlier in the year and able to get some good wins. They are moving backwards now and at a VERY fast pace. They lost it man, damn.

I disagreed before on this and tried to hold on but Tony needs to sit. Too bad our backups are not that good either and can't carry a team so it really won't make a huge difference but it might make some Neither Patty or Cojo is a starting PG in this league but they can't be any worse than Tony right now.

    This has happened a lot.
Yep, infact you can count on it happening now with a miss on our end and a three on the other end. It no longer is a so called fluke or a bad break, it's a given.

It was a nice 5 game Championship run. We all have known this was coming but, we all kept hoping for one more with this group. Not sure what is wrong with Pop but, he seems off. Strange subs utions all season long. I have a feeling that Danny will get an offer from Cleveland and he'll take it. When Pop puts a player in his stupid 'ego-maniac' doghouse then that player is usually toast. Tim and Manu will most likely retire. Tim may not but, the team must now look to the future. Mr. Leonard will now get probably half the max contract at best. He keeps showing he is not a franchise player. Tony is Tony. He is overrated but, this season he gets hurt and doesn't do the things he could do to stay in shape and not get fat. Then when he healed he wouldn't need half a season to get into game shape. Boris, Marco and Tiago owe Peter Holt a bunch of their salary they have not earned this season. And so does Pop.

It was fun while it lasted but, it is now time to work for a decent draft pick like we haven't had for a while. I'd actually prefer we didn't get into the playoffs and get swept by Golden State. Just start shutting it down. GoSpursGo....2030 NBA Champions!

This is all just my humble opinion.

That's what so weird about this. Compared to now the November team looked like the Old Spurs, and even that December team that went through the gauntlet with barely a losing record, had way more fight than this. I think it is a vicious cycle. Injuries and poor play by some, meant Pop wasn't in a position to rest people, and now even when we're whole, the team looks exhausted. Throw in Tony and Boris's issues and the Kawhi-centered offense earlier in the season that never worked out, and our O is hurting. We had great D for a while, but exhaustion is setting in. Also, since the O is so bad Pop is forced to play Beli who can at least get his own shot, more and Green less, which hurts the D. And Splitter, so good last year, arguably the MVP of our first two rounds, is a non-factor.

I did. I did after every championship. I always want to reload because it helps the team stay fresh and takes pressure off the same guys you've ridden into the ground.

The only off-season after a championship that I was happy with was 2006 and that team should have won it all.

Spurs front office is overrated. I won't give them props for getting TD and not maximizing what they could have done with one of the greatest players of all time.

Most times they were too cheap to reload, didn't want to sign players to help the team, more often than not went the cheaper route. When they do go after someone, they don't seem to go after them hard enough.

I think them failing to upgrade after past les was certainly foolish, but I can understand staying pat in 2014. Unfortunately, every player minus Timmy is worse than last season. The only miss out was not giving Leonard a back up, but I don't remember the free agent market looking promising. It doesn't matter who we would have brought in anyways if our main guys are all playing like .

I can understand this off-season too, but when I had that thought during the off-season myself, age is what made me change my mind and want to try and upgrade again.

It's just foolish. It just doesn't seem like the Spurs front office thinks it all the way through. It took me a few minutes during the off-season to come to that conclusion. You know, for the first bit of the off-season I thought like everyone else here did, which was that we don't need to upgrade, but then I thought because of age and possibility of injuries, we need to do it anyway. Spurs FO obviously didn't.

If they hadn't learned their lesson, I think, finally, once and for all they've learned it now. If they haven't, then I don't know what to say. I mean, they did it in 2006 and that team by far had the best chance of repeating than any of our previous championship teams. They should have won it. I don't understand what the Spurs are using as a reason not to try and reload.

I was actually more disappointed we didn't dump off any of our scrubs like Beli, Bonner, Errors. The drop off after the 8th man on the team is significant and it would have been nice to have younger, more NBA like players occupying the bench instead of all the deadweights we have now.

I hate to agree on this but I really have to agree with some of it to be honest. I wanted them to spend the MLE after last years run and bring someone in and a few other times as well. I know they got 5 les with Tim and could have had 6, but as you said off seasons at times have been very underwhelming. I don't call the FO overrated though as they turned Hill into Kawhi, pulled Manu and Tony from overseas when few were doing that, they did their thing in ways as well and deserve some credit there. This is one of the best organizations in the league from top to bottom but I agree on the spending in the off season at times, they should have gone for broke to try to repeat this year but instead brought everyone back (Which looked good at first) and didn't add another piece they needed.
