I was actually more disappointed we didn't dump off any of our scrubs like Beli, Bonner, Errors. The drop off after the 8th man on the team is significant and it would have been nice to have younger, more NBA like players occupying the bench instead of all the deadweights we have now.
That would have been a great move. I like your thoughts on that one. They really didn't need to those end of the bench guys. Bonner, Daye and Ayres shouldn't have been on the team at all to start the season. They were not needed at all. They should have been replaced by more capable players.

I think them failing to upgrade after past les was certainly foolish, but I can understand staying pat in 2014. Unfortunately, every player minus Timmy is worse than last season. The only miss out was not giving Leonard a back up, but I don't remember the free agent market looking promising. It doesn't matter who we would have brought in anyways if our main guys are all playing like .
Agreed, 2014 I somewhat agree on as well, as dominant as they looked it appeared to be the right choice. They still had the MLE though correct? Nobody saw this fall off coming from so many, nobody.

Agreed, but those three are on the books so what do you do?

I hate to agree on this but I really have to agree with some of it to be honest. I wanted them to spend the MLE after last years run and bring someone in and a few other times as well. I know they got 5 les with Tim and could have had 6, but as you said off seasons at times have been very underwhelming. I don't call the FO overrated though as they turned Hill into Kawhi, pulled Manu and Tony from overseas when few were doing that, they did their thing in ways as well and deserve some credit there. This is one of the best organizations in the league from top to bottom but I agree on the spending in the off season at times, they should have gone for broke to try to repeat this year but instead brought everyone back (Which looked good at first) and didn't add another piece they needed.
They've made some good moves, but so has every front office. The main difference is, most of those other front offices didn't have a player that is top 5 all-time. If the Spurs never got TD, then they would probably have zero championships and this front office would have been fired a long time ago. Possibly as early as '99. That's why I call them overrated. If they weren't able to get TD, then they'd most likely have won nothing.

-Wasting the MLE on Belli/Ayres last year
-Not using the MLE this year
-giving Tony a $45 million extension when his current contract still had a year remaining. Why the couldn't they wait one more year?

Front office has been pathetic. Last summer is proof enough.

Yeah, cojo is trash offensively but his defense and hustle is at least something. TP isn't giving us anything. I think Mills should start. He's a pest on defense and has good offense. TP can come off the bench until he finds his shot.
I'd start CoJo (his defense on the opposing team's starting PG will be a nice boost) along with Splitter. Then 2nd unit with Patty (spark plug), Manu, Marco, Diaw and Baynes. Close out with whichever PG is having the better game or more favorable matchup.

Tim did change things, he made it a little easier to win and they lucked out there. A guy like that can make anyone look better. We could say this about several franchises though and who they got or didn't get, Portland might have won 6 if they got MJ and the Bulls never sniffed a le. If LA never landed Kobe in that trade do they ring? Probably but not 5 of them. TD was luck, they should count their blessings they landed him when they did because the Spurs were known for years and years of failure before that.
