To sell more hardware so things don't become stale? Weak argument.
Lol, I love those old consoles.
To sell more hardware so things don't become stale? Weak argument.
Gamers are tech heads, tech heads like new upgrades every few years, gotta upgrade components which include new graphics, etc. Not that hard.
That graphics bull was marketed and brainwashed into our minds as kids with all those marketing terms like "8 bit", "16 bit", calling graphic cards "Voodoo" or "GeForce" and making you feel guilty if you didn't have the latest and greatest. Welcome to the tech world.
Kid: "Blast processing?! Holy , I dont know what that is but I need it!"
Not only that, you're FORCED to upgrade, you really don't have a choice. If you want to play the latest game, then you're forced to move generations. That" why aren't we all still playing SNES "is such a lazy argument.
Don't forget "Mode 7 scaling" on SNES..that sold me when I first played Super Contra at launch..
I've been playing 2 hours a day of q2dm for the last month![]()
It's like watching a ty movie like The Interview in 1080p.
Yeah, I mean, when I used to work on Mame, you'll be crazy to know the amount of requests for drivers. People really played a lot of the good oldies. Heck, I played the out of Super Punchout and Karate Champ once I got them working.
" sold me"... exactlyCan't forget about the Emotion Engine with the PS2. Cell Processor for the PS3 that one day, I could hook up my toaster to since all those systems are going to share similar architecture in the future... oh wait a minute...
Super FX chip caused wads to blow when it dropped too..Starfox and Stunt Race FX was the first 3D games I had.
MAME is incredible, and yeah, I still love playing NES. Nowadays 2D games look terrible though when they put high resolution textures on flat models. It looks so much better low resolution. Does anyone actually play old arcade games on XBox Live with the new graphics? (well, did anyone back when 360 was still relevant?)
Love MAME. That must have been a fun project to work on.![]()
Damn son, I was 100% spot on here.
How come you never flashed those s to 6970s?
Cause I'm lazy.![]()
My brother still rocks a 6950 he flashed to 6970. Damn I wish you could still do like that.
AMD
Hey man, you know the Step Up only works for a few of their GPUs. I was briefly considering a Step Up to a 980 but found out you can't do it for the really nice ones like the Classified 980, FTW+ 980, ACX 2.0+ 980, SuperClocked 980, etc. You can only step up to the ACX 2.0 980.
Wasn't aware of that, but I can see why. The ACX 2.0 is the one I would buy anyway, it's better than a reference card and I can overclock a GPU myself. Backplates are worthless IMO.
It's kind of funny thinking the an was actually the watered down GK110, and the 780 Ti was the full chip minus 3GB VRAM. I wonder if they'll hold back on GM200 too like that.
It's stupid that the an 2 will come out at 1K or more, then get matched by the next "80" class card for 300 or more cheaper shortly after. Is a little more RAM really worth the premium in Nvidia's eyes?
It's supposed to be $1400. After seeing what a debacle the original was they might just release the full GM200 as the an 2 though.
I mean, that's how high-end GPUs are. Far and above anything else in performance and cost, only to be equaled or surpassed by the next generation for substantially less.
hey got with the expensive cards...what screen u using it with?
don't tell me u invest so much money into video cards and used them on ty panels that isn't ips or 4k...
Running 720p tbh on a Vizio
hey baseline bum, Cry Havoc u clowns have a karaoke system setup?
not the midi file type, im talkin about the ktv or mtv where they use original mtv ktv clips
