I point out that being from New Zealand that Baynes isn't from any continent nor is Duncan being from the Virgin Islands.

New Zealand is not part of the continent of Australia, but of the separate, submerged continent of Zealandia.

Via Wikipedia. Anyway Aaron should be used as a special situational player. As the strongest of our bigs he could get close to starter minutes in some situations but splitter will still probably start. Hopefully Aaron can keep splitter's minutes down, and maybe that will carry over in the playoffs. It really just depends on splitter's health.

Not sure it's serious but... Virgin Islands are part of Américas. Central América, to be exactly. New Zealand is part of the Oceania.

Yeah, I've heard Australia (the continent) being referred to as Oceania before, probably to encompass New Zealand and the other island nations.

I always thought that every country belonged to one continent or another, actually.

And didn't Baynes wear the Australian flag after the le in June?

Are you joking or what? There are only five continents: Américas, Asia, África, Europe and Oceania.

In the US, N and S America are considered separate, and Antarctica is considered a continent, so seven.

I believe Baynes was born in NZ, but has an Aussie passport and nationality.

I tend to go by continental (tectonic) plates making North and South america different continents. Australia and India are part of the same major plate and New Zealand depending on which island is either part of it or on the border of but is a separate sub-plate.

He'll be the 4th big but against certain teams like OKC he could get bumped over Bonner. If Diaw starts during a series, it would be interesting to see if Pop tries Baynes and Splitter together.

Different countries have different layouts... you're likely referring to the Spanish-speaking countries layout.

DAbom, ive taken you off ignore for awhile, plz elucidate why this thread is fail. You are too terse.

While i'm here. If that wikipedia quote i C/P is correct then how many damn underwater continents are there?

also, I always though Steve Adams was the NZ, Baynes the AUS. I want them to be proper rivals so I will consider Baynes an Aussie.

A body of land can be separated by water and still be part of the continent.
""From the perspective of geologyor physical geography, continent may be extended beyond the confines of continuous dry land to include the shallow, submerged adjacent area (the continental shelf)[7] and the islands on the shelf (continental islands), as they are structurally part of the continent.[8] From this perspective the edge of the continental shelf is the true edge of the continent, as shorelines vary with changes in sea level.[9] In this sense the islands of Great Britain and Ireland are part of Europe, while Australia and the island of New Guinea together form a continent.""

By all standards, América is only one continent. Only in United States of Amurica, North América is a separate continent. Just to elucidate, just try to figure the olympic rings according to amurican standards.
    Tectonic plates. NP man.
Well, if you use the tectonic plates as parameters, parts of Califórnia aren't north américa. There are several tecnonic plates there: the pacific plate, Juan de Fuca Plate, Cocos Plate and the north américa plate .

Did you read the link I posted? China, India, England and Australia also consider North and South America different continents.
