You assume that I assume. I don't have the time to cover every angle of how each sentence can be interpreted. It was just general comment about buyouts coming here.
He'd be good for the Mavs...not so much the Spurs.

I'm not completely anti McGee from the standpoint of being an athletic big with heart (if not brains) he'd be handy... taking the place of Ayers isn't hard.
Not many minutes there between Dirk, Tyson and Amare.
Maybe Miami who has doesn't have a ton of size with Whiteside, Anderson, Haslem etc.
I think McGee would do alright under Timmy's tutelage.
I think he could be usefull on a veteran team, on a good coaching team with leadership that can focus him, worth the try...

Are the Spurs FO even making any effort to get any of these players? Amare signed with Mavs, Perkins with Cavs, etc. At the moment the Spurs are the defending NBA champs, so I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to sign with Spurs. Perhaps they are not making the effort and showlng little interest.
Anyway, I would not be surprised to see McGee sign elsewhere, but I guess the Spurs are content with the roster they have so don't see the need to change anything.
??? It's WAY too late to put any of these players into the rotation, and none of them want a deep bench role. It's not rocket science....
Good point, sure looks like they are standing pat.
There would BE no Shaqtin' a Fool without McGee. He kind of makes Ayres look like Duncan.
If nothing else, McGee joining the Spurs would be a good thing for Danny Green. He'd immediately become Pop's new whipping boy.
McGee is the type of dude to cost you a playoff game. Dude is plain stupid when it comes to playing basketball.
if coach puts him in position to cost us a playoff game, the blunder is on coach.
Mcgee should be a bench guy to play 10-15 mins a game and used like Miami Heat's Bigbird, only in a lesser scale.
No signing this late in the season is going make much of a difference - there's no Diaw-level guys available for a buyout this year. If anything is preventing a repeat, it's Tony Parker's cancerous play this season. He's the biggest roadblock for the team right now. Frenchie has always been a major disappointment in repeat years.
Part of me is extremely tempted. He is 27 and still as an extremely low BBIQ but his physical skills are scary. Ric Bucher mentioned that he looking for a "stable environment" either that's from him or more likely his agent.
Thinking more of a lower middle class version of Brendan Wright, without the jumper but he's probably best in that 15 minute role.
He played for one of the ten best coaches of the last 50 years, George Karl. If Karl can't teach you, you're just flat are incapable of learning.
Famous 27 YO NBA players generally won't take that role. He'll be ready when he's 33 and can no longer jump or even run.
I think he is worth the gamble tbh as a bench guy. Pop is a better coach than Karl, but Karl is still pretty damn good.
Do people forget how even a coach can cost you a playoff game to. "6". Pop didn't have Duncan on the floor, and you know the rest.
He wouldn't play meaningful minutes in the playoffs but, he wouldn't be a bad insurance policy during the regular season in a situation where Pop wants to rest key players or short term injuries occur.
AMEN, not even worth any more discussion or pages as he is not even rumored to SA and we all know he won't sign in SA. I am not saying it's a huge loss or anything like that but it's 100% not happening at all and Budkin hit it on the head. That last part is a little bit of a stretch there, Ayres is just horrible![]()
I thought Miami & Memphis are both interested to sign the 6'11" Blatche ...?
I honestly wouldn't mind signing him but , Pop would have a stroke with this dude.![]()
