He can't be worse than Ayres, tbh. Why not give him a try?

When will Spurfan realize that FAs don't come to San Antonio. Trust me, not getting McGee is a good thing. He's the epitome of the anti-Spur.

That last part is a little bit of a stretch there, Ayres is just horrible
Did you watch that Shatin' clip on page 2? The only bigman clip I can imagine as funnier would be video of the Spurs training Ayres to catch tennis balls.

Sure hope warriors grab him. Can't believe Kerr would be tempted to take him, but then again what are your options if Bogut goes down?

Considering how incredible well the team has been playing, I'm not sure I would want to count McGee among them. Seems like the kind of guy that could throw a wrench in the whole works (selfish, low bball IQ...pretty much the opposite of what Kerr is trying to install).

I agree but he is not coming to SA nor ever was so we can forget about it and move on. I knew he would end up with a team like GS or something like that, thats where players seem to go. They want the sexy pick or who is first in the standings usually to try and get a ring. I hope the Spurs go on a tear now with what they have and give the league , as usual.

Yep, forget the stupid FA watch and I want this or that blah blah blah . The Spurs are not going to sign anyone or make a move so they will roll with what they have and we will find out soon if it is enough! I hope it is and can't wait for the final stretch. Time to fine tune now, rack up some wins and move up some.

Bogut and McGee literally have nothing in common outside of their height, tbh..

Bogut: average athleticism, high iq, solid passer, great post and help defender, good rebounder, good screen setter

McGee: great athleticism, above average help defender, poor all-around defender, limited offensive skill, historically low basketball IQ, average screen setter, has never displayed competence in playing team basketball

    Not really insurance, tbh

Wouldn't be surprised if the Mavs take him, it seems like they're attempting to assemble the most random, poorly-built roster in recent West playoff history..

Famous 27 YO NBA players generally won't take that role. He'll be ready when he's 33 and can no longer jump or even run.
I'm sure he doesn't envisions him self as a backup big man in an energy role. But his agent has probably informed him of how limited his time in the league could be. It could help keep him in the league and similar to Wright, who was considered a bust before he became a strong role player for the Mavs.

10 teams are interested ( several has been specifically linked such as Toronto and GSW) if he screws this decision he could be China bound or in the D-league. There have been a several freak athletes that have fallen out of the league (Gerald Green, Tyrus Thomas).

He fell out of the league and went to the D-league before being called up to the Nets. He turned that into a 3 year deal. He is on the Suns currently, this was like 4 years ago.

Does that mean the Spurs should sign every available scrub just because they're better than Ayres? McGee sucks too, man.

What is the story with Ray Allen? Is he signing with any team at this point for the playoffs? Is it even worth it now for the Spurs to pursue if they could?

Allen just announced he'd sit out the entire 2014-15 season...that includes the off season.
