DJR210, here you go .

I've got two 24" 1080p monitors, the main one is Asus 120hz.
Got a pretty solid sound system though, mirage om-12 omnipolar floorspeakers with a BIC America center and flanked by two insignia surrounds. I haven't even thought about a sub given how insanely deep the mirage's go. 32hz if I remember.

Is that the new one?
Yeah, their CEO introduced it today. an X 12GB.
so that's their "big" announcement huh.. that's a ton of memory, I heard DX12 is going to allow you to combine VRAM over multiple cards so that may decrease value for someone with a ultra high resolution setup.
Seems like this card is going to be 1.5x the 980 plus more vram for 2.5x the price. Which should make it more powerful than AMD's 300W water cooled 390x based on leaked benchmarks from the 390x.
It's probably going to cost almost double what the 390x does, too...
For sure. With the 390x being a 300W card no way they can go much above the current 980 prices even if it destroys it thanks to people buying into the Maxwell low power hype.
Meh, I hope a few people jump ship after the 970 debacle. I had a terrible experience with the 8800 GTS, so I don't think I'll be buying NVidia anytime soon.
Wasn't 8800GTS the card that was VRAM gimped from the second it launched, like the GTX 960 is now?
Not sure, but 3 of my friends and myself all owned the card, and they all died within a month of each other just outside of warranty. Nvidia never acknowledged the defect.
Already axed Mantle
the Nvidia killer
AMD
This sucks.. because AMD will never figure out how to stop playing catch up to Nvidia, and dropping so much into new tech that never takes off, they will eventually quit making GPU/CPU's and there goes the prices on Intel and Nvidia.
Damn, AMD releases Mantle and Nvidia instead gets rid of the overhead in their DirectX 11 drivers so they don't need Mantle. It's embarrassing how much better Nvidia GPUs perform in CPU bottlenecked situations with i3s vs AMD GPUs. You gotta see this video of an R9 280 struggling to keep up with a GTX 750 Ti when paired with an i3-4130:
Though AMD GPUs are still awesome when paired with an i5 or i7.
I wish they had never bought ATi, so they could focus on CPUs. I know you'll scoff them, but until Conroe they were way better than Intel. And until Sandy Bridge they were still compe ive.
Dunno if they would have stayed afloat without doing that, though. Sucks that Intel/Nvidia are just taking over. Though they'll probably lose too because they're sucking it up in the mobile department right now.
AMD has such a ty brand name. Even in the Pentium 4 / Athlon XP days when they murdered Intel on both price to performance and flat out performance they were still never above 20% market share.
It's the same reason Beats or One Direction makes money. Has nothing to do with quality, just how it's marketed. The public will literally eat anything that's sold to them well.
For all the I give Apple and Apple lovers, they actually make a very solid product, so the hype is somewhat substantiated. With a lot of others, it's simply that's marketed as the golden goose. It blows my mind that people spend $300 on subpar headphones that get decimated by a lot of stuff at 50% of the cost.
Damn, apparently there is a 980 Ti which could be coming next month. Corsair even has it listed on their PSU Finder page.

Yeah, I've been mentioning the Ti cause I was pretty sure they were gonna release it.. I want that , may sell some old gear to fund it.
Sounds like it'll just be an X cut to 6GB VRAM and with higher clocks. Once again ting all over the people who blew a grip of money on ans.![]()
What's the ing point of the an X? The double precision computation has been gimped vs an Black for CUDA programming, and 12 GB VRAM is useless for gaming.
oi bb,
how much is ur electricity bill with this machine of urs on full load 100%?
4K resolution with ultra textures fill 6 or more GB's pretty quick, but at this point it's just for rich gots with disposable income.
Really? In benchmarks I have seen 4GB usually seems fine for 4k ultra except in Shadow of Mordor. Unless you're talking about running with heavy MSAA.
