Whiteside is putting up massive numbers every night, regardless of opponent:

He tore up Al Horford to the tune of 14 PTS 24 REB 2 BLK
He tore up N. Vucevic to the tune of 15 PTS 13 REB 3 BLK
He tore up N. Pekovic to the tune of 24 PTS 20 REB 2 BLK

I could go on... bottom line is - This kid is a monster. Even in his limited time with Sacramento, his per 36 minute numbers were crazy. I was always surprised he was never given more of a chance.

He's an odd one. Hard to figure. Bet Doc Rivers is kicking himself for not giving the dude a try out. , imagine you showcase the guy and get what you need for him if nothing else.

I know his numbers are gaudy, but I'd have to see his game to see how he's getting there. Dejuan Blair had gaudy numbers quite often but his game was too rough around the edges to be effective in the long run. Whiteside might be different. Surely there's something about him other teams passed on.

Guy isn't even going to get payed until after next season, probably best. Can show that he can sustain this for a full season and should get a pretty good deal considering he'd be 27. Miami has like $90 million committed next season (including Dragic's $20 million), They are going to be extremely top heavy but that's a very good starting 5 going forward.

His plus/minus numbers since joining the Heat are incredible so this isn't any stat padding kind of fluke; team goes from being like an average .500 team when he's in to the 73 Sixer's when he sits

I bet a lot of front offices are kicking themselves honestly..

If I had League Pass I'd definitely watch a few Heat games..Blair did have a few monster rebounding games, but never at this kids frequency..every time I turn on NBA TV, it seems this kid has this ridiculous stat line. He's giving them a double double, and won't even get paid half a million over his two years. Crazy good deal for Miami.

Most people here won't make half a million over 2 years. The Heat will likely parlay him into a deal to another team. Riley is Wiley.

Dudes putting up 11 ppg, 10 rpg, 2.5 bpg 63% FG and a 28 P.E.R. in 22 mpg and barely making $1.5 million combined over this year and next.

I'm seeing he is getting paid much less than that if these figures are accurate..

Don't blame Wade for going off. Last night was a critical game. Bosh returned to the arena and gave a great speech, Three played one of his best games of the season, and we were in the game despite being shorthanded. Then Whiteside got himself ejected and now we're in 9th in the east.

It's a ploy. They need a reason to waive him so they can resign him for longer/more.

Under NBA rules, contracts shorter than three years in length, such as Whiteside’s, cannot be extended.
The only way for the Heat to offer Whiteside a new contract after this season would be to waive the final year on his contract. However, because Whiteside is only signed for the league minimum next season, any and every other team could (and assuredly would) put in a claim.
In addition, because of the two seasons Whiteside previously spent with the Sacramento Kings, he would become an unrestricted free agent in 2016, as opposed to if these next two seasons with the Heat were his lone NBA tenure, in which case the Heat would have the right to match outside offers.

Homie has a little Shaq in him... I would say Howard too but Howard's entertainer act doesn't stop when needs to get serious
