what do you consider old?
^ This is a favorite Floyd album thread tbh
The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn is my favorite because I much prefer early Floyd. I have to say that Dark Side is their most cohesive album though. I like a few tracks off most of their records, but honestly I find Roger Waters to be humorless and heavy handed. I would rather listen to Syd Barrett solo records.

It's the safe choice....but The Wall is certainly up there.
I really like "Wish you were here" too. Have a Cigar...Shine on you crazy diamond....But IIRC...there is only like 5-6 tracks on the record. The Wall has like 30 songs....Comfortably Numb, Another brick in the wall (part 2), mother, The trial, waiting on the worms, run like , the show must go on....all great tracks.
BTW...dark side of the moon and Animals are also great. This is a tough choice tbh....
Your mom's tumbleweed vagina
They're from a time when people had to know how to write, play instruments, and sing without autotune, so it's not for everyone.

Overrated.
Not even trolling. Floyd is trash.
Well only you and her gynecologist would really know that to be a fact so I'll just have to take your word on it. Hope it was as good as you said on your down syndrome singles page.![]()
The Wall
some filler but the goods are still there and imo Gilmour gets his best tones on this one.
Yeah, I have to agree with Sperminator on this one, but The Wall is definitive of Floyd...

I like that it's a bit unrefined--perfect precursor to DSOTM. Disagree on Pillow of Winds, very chill song and Echoes is GOAT, of course. San Tropez fits better on Meddle than Money does on DSOTM, fwiw.
As far as Piper, Lucifer Sam is the most underrated song on it.
The Wall is brilliant. The amount of times times I've driven up and down England listening to that album is probably reaching close to 1000 times.
Live at Pompeii is the best thing Pink Floyd ever did, by far IMHO.
Eh, I think Money fits well in the context of the album. Maybe I've listened to it too many times blown out of my mind but I always see it as a long musical exposition of one's life from beginning to end. There's a kind of somber feel to Meddle except for San Tropez which made it feel weird there. Still a good song though. I like Pillow of Winds but it's almost too chill for me at this point. Fearless is good but has too much random chanting on it.
I am a huge Floyd fan but imo their early stuff like Piper or Atom Heart is really meh, Gilmour himself later said it was mostly just noise.
Top 5 Floyd songs:
1. Echoes
2. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (both parts combined)
3. Dogs
4. Time
5. Have a Cigar
Tough for me to pick as so many of their songs are awesome.
'Money' is the only Floyd song I'll change on the radio
Meddle is my favorite. There's just something loose and fun in it, especially for Floyd standards. And then it all culminates in Echoes, which is their best song imo. As long as it is, I usually play it on repeat. I really dig Pillow of Winds, puts my mind at ease.
I like a lot of the earlier stuff and Barrett's solo work, but to me the band really got good with Gilmour, he brought some needed soul. Without Gilmour you end up with a lot of Water's pretentious wankery. He's talented but insufferable, it's the same reason I've never gotten into the Wall, despite some classic songs on it.
