Wait, aren't the Saints supposed to be purging?
Adam Schefter
Saints reached agreement with former Bills RB CJ Spiller. Saints backfield getting crowded: Spiller, Mark Ingram, Khiry Robinson.
Wait, aren't the Saints supposed to be purging?
Saints trade Kenny Stills to Miami for Dannell Ellerbe and a third
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...e-and-a-third/
Well dammit.
mcfadden would be a good 3rd down/emergency back. we're getting gurley, gordon or tevin coleman
yeah, wt a trade. Get a MLB, 3rd pick, and sign CJ Spillers.
Retooling. Trading away underachieving players to fill holes with draft picks and FA signings. This team sucked ass last season. needed to change.
Agreed. Teams and fans always overvalue Saints WR's and don't take into account how average they are when a HOF QB isn't throwing passes to them. The same thing happened with Meacham (bust in San Diego) and Lance Moore (bust in Pittsburg). Good QBs can make almost any WR look good.
Uh, Rapelisberger is maybe a HoF QB and Rivers isn't Johnny Football...
thats a big if. good chance mcfadden injures their spines when he rams directly into the backs of his blockers as usual
ans signed Orakpo and re-signed Derrick Morgan. like both of those pickups, and it paves the way for them to pick Leonard Williams
Saints signing Spiller is a solid move to complement Ingram. Brees misses having his Sproles around, and Spiller can do a lot of that while also being a pretty good runner
Cooks may also be able to play semi-hybrid a few snaps per game.
True, but neither of them were able to do anything with Meacham or Moore, even though both had "value" and were seen as solid WR's when they left the Saints. It just further illustrated what Brees was able to do with them. We'll see what happens with Stills.
he was being billed as the next marvin harrison by saints fans early last year, now he's a gadget guy?
Spiller out in space, Spiller out in space, why the Bills never figured that out..? Maybe the Saints will having their history with Sproles.
I've always viewed him as more of a Percy Harvin type.... same height and weight. He's already following his injury pattern as well![]()
I still view Cooks as a Marvin Harrison type. Too small to be in the backfield.
Do you think the Saints give Joe Morgan one last chance to make the roster and live up to his potential? Or him?
Stacked!
Hopfilly we still land Perish Cox, and Jerron Johnson will visit us on Sunday hope land him!
Offseason Summary So Far....
The Saints now have two 2015 first-round draft picks, a second-rounder, two third-rounders, two fifth-rounders, a sixth-rounder and a seventh-rounder
Key Additions:
Max Unger
CJ Spiller
Dannell Ellerbe
Brandon Browner
Key Losses:
Jimmy Graham
Pierre Thomas
Kenny Stills
Curtis Lofton
Ben Grubbs
Ellerbe was a pretty big FA bust for Miami, wonder if he can rebound, or if he was just overhyped in the first place starting alongside Ray Lewis
Percy Harvin to the Bills on a 1 year deal. Nice move by the Bills. Not sure wtf Harvin is thinking. He's going to need to put up big numbers to really cash in on a 1 year prove-it deal... and he chose Matt Cassel and the Bills to pump up his value?
i say screw him.
