It's 1936 Jesse Owens has just won the Olympic 100m in 10.3. All the scientific info there was couldn't have seen a 9.58 as even a remote possibility.
There are HS kids today running far faster than 10.3, which is 10.54 electric. Reggie Bush/C.J.Spiller/Percy Harvin ran faster than that in HS.
Science can only go so far.
