They do band together, but not like family. They band together like dogs. They aren't there for one another, but for themselves. They can get more as a group than as an individual, and the individual is looking for that moment when he can take from the group and get away with it, just like dogs.
Like dogs, the blacks are allowed into the group because they are black, and they all know this is why. They use that to get into a jostling position to be the alpha, and as alpha they get the booty. As solo men, they get on constantly, have to learn english, have to clean up. As a group, they can talk to other black groups and hide in the group.
It's not a good life, but it's what they are taught as children should be the pinnacle of their dreams.
